Hey all! Here are the meeting minutes from our monthly OpenUX Call.

1. Update on the UX Bounty

The curators have been approved — we are now entering the execution phase! :partying_face:

Here’s a breakdown of our goals for the next 3 months:

Some notes to read this timeline.

By the end of September:

  • Scope the 7 prioritized UX issues with milestones, cost estimations, and timelines.
  • The UX Guild voted to use GitHub as the project management tool to track each issue, so we’ll set it up. In parallel, we’re considering using Notion to consolidate resources, as it integrates with GitHub and is more user-friendly for less tech-savvy people.
  • We’ll prepare report templates that will be used in the coming months to report on spending and project progress.

By the end of October:

  • Scope the remaining UX issues (and any new ones that arise).
  • Through our past calls, we’ve already identified most of the executors for the first issues. It wouldn’t make sense to open RFPs right now, but we want to be ready for the next wave of issues by the end of October.
  • We recognize that the current backlog and organization may not be best suited in the future, so we’ll work on improving organization with user stories and epics to start operating in a more product-centric manner.
  • Finally, by the end of October, we’ll have enough material to report on.

By the end of November:

  • We expect some issues to be resolved by then.
  • We’ll start the new wave of UX issues/improvements.
  • We’ll propose directions for Bounty Phase #2.
  • Finally, we’ll document everything into a best practices library and share monthly reports.

2. UX Issues Updates

Here are the 7 issues that has been prioritized and we’ll focus on in September.

Following our previous update, we are now in step #3.

Our primary focus, as mentioned above, is to get those issues scoped during September.

We’ve kick-started the working groups for the issues 1, 2, 3 this week and the four other will start soon. Please check the links to read our notes:

  3. Protective Measures for Parachains <> CEXs

We have started fleshing out the directions and how we’d like to tackle them.

Starting September 9th, we’ll hold weekly meetings for each issue to consolidate the scope.

Note: The milestones, timelines, and cost estimations will be signed off by the curators before moving forward.

4. Final Words

We’ll start posting on the forum for specific issues that need community attention, so expect more on that.
