First off, this is an amazing initiative and kudos to the organisers and OpenGov for passing the proposal and giving the chance to 40 ambassadors all around the globe the chance to apply and potentially attend Decoded!
Iām going to try and be brief in a summary of some of the work Iāve done in the DOT ecosystem! To start, a bit about me: Iām a digital marketer (certified by an educational institution in London), a general content creator in the Polkadot ecosystem and an ambassador for Polkadot (Since September 2023), Polimec Protocol (Since August 2023), Archisinal (Recently) and Hashed Network (Since August 2023).
In the past 6 months, Iāve been (and still am) a regular Polkadot community member and ambassador, Iāve predominately participated in marketing conversations; and discussions around Polkadot marketing and how to better it before the decentralisation of Parity occurred.
I started creating content on my personal X page for Nova Wallet, Talisman and SubWallet, with the idea of introducing more people (non-Web3 experts) into the Polkadot ecosystem. Then, from there created content for Polkadotās Vault Wallet, and Polkadot projects in the space such as Hashed Network, Polimec Protocol, Astar and lots others. As time went on, I landed with Unique Network and I currently create content for them, manage social media and work on the ideation, planning and execution of various marketing campaigns in the Polkadot ecosystem.
Not only do I create content on the front end (e.g. social media), but I regularly write articles, thought-leadership pieces and blogs from NFTs, OpenGov, development updates, deep dives and marketing campaigns. As my knowledge and skill set are within marketing and effective content strategy; I am also an NFT nerd, and having worked in NFTs before (and currently am), I like to highlight NFTs on Polkadot, and the current unfolding landscape that is happening over there.
A very recent marketing campaign Iāve been very focused on and driving attention to is the Polkadot Loves Conor Campaign, highlighting the power of Polkadotās Open Governance and how itās the only DAO that has ever sponsored a major sports event like the Indy500. From there, Iāve created daily content to consistently drive the message and vision of what Polkadot represents, and how to bring a community together through community channels, social media engagement, and campaigns to drive traction and leads to Polkadot.
Iām also (still learning, because the learning never stops) an avid OpenGov content creator and often like to involve myself in the hot topics, so to speak, and provide insights and alerts when major proposals are gaining traction and build up more courage around the idea of OpenGov ā ultimately my only aim with this is to continue learning and to be less afraid of the concept of decentralized governance (and I know there are not very many women involved in the conversations, so it can be a little intimidating at times). Iāll often learn from others (mainly in ChaosDAO) how to navigate OpenGov, what to expect in proposals and how to effectively negotiate; find data and research; come to conclusions and vote.
Some of my OpenGov content includes:
- A paragraph explaining why you would like to benefit from sponsorship.
- Iād like to attend and benefit for these main reasons:
Marketing Purposes: I think it goes without saying, that marketing and promoting campaigns is a huge reason, and Iād like to represent not only the projects I work with but Polkadot as a whole online and showcase what Decoded is all about. Iād like to report about the event, capture moments of each speaker, report on social media whatās currently happening and write in upcoming blogs and future content posts.
Connecting with different projects & parachains in person: Secondly, marketing comes with a lot of networking and working with different parachains and projects. Every year, new and unique projects join the Polkadot ecosystem (doesnāt have to be a parachain per se) and itās often hard to organise online and have effective conversations when there is always so much going on. Iād like to connect with other marketers, and content strategists and work on future collaborations and campaigns that will benefit Polkadot.
Visit Brussels and Meet Fellow Polkadot Friends: Iāve never visited Brussels before, this would be a great opportunity to explore Belgium and its culture, in addition to meeting fellow Polkadot friends, who Iāve met along the way in my Polkadot journey.
Thank you for reading through my application, and I apologise for the long post!
Itās nice to know thereās diversity in the Kusamarian teamšš½
I want to give my support for Adrian!
Always dedicated, a GOOD FRIEND of EVERYONE in the ecosystem.
Heās deserved anything <3
Hello! Iād love to come to Decoded and represent the APAC region.
Name
William (@replghost on TG)
Location
APAC / Taiwan
Last 6 months
Decentralized Voices - I was selected to be part of the first cohort of DV voters, and have evaluated hundreds (I think?) of proposals, assessing technical merit, ecosystem importance, proposal quality and need. Note - I originally voted for this proposal, but then recused at the end to apply for sponsorship here!
TeamZ Conference in Tokyo (April 2024) - I was part of the group organized by DFG to attend and represent Polkadot at the booth and side events.
EthTaipei (March 2024) - I was a volunteer at the Polkadot booth to meet attendees and spread the word
Sub0 Bangkok (March 2024) - I attended and met a lot of great ecosystem teams/people for the first time.
Polkadot Blockchain Academy, Hong Kong (Jan 2024) - I graduated from the PBA and won the pitch competition. Also met a lot of great W3F people, Parity people ecosystem teams and almost 100 founders/devs entering the ecosystem from many countries.
Finally, over much of this time, I have been part of the Talisman team, though I am currently independent.
Why?
I think itās really important for us to meet together in person to build bonds and foster understanding that is much richer than just interacting in the forum, Polkassembly or Discord/TG. Sometimes with the global remote nature of blockchain, itās difficult to do this, so we should take advantage of these opportunities. I had a really valuable time at Sub0 because of this.
Similarly, Iād love to help to bridge APAC with Europe and the US, given cultural differences, the language barrier and differences in communication styles. By meeting and making connections in person, I can bring back contacts and potential users that can be connected to teams in this region and vice versa.

My name is: Vikk
City: Budapest
Country: Hungary
Region: Central Europe
Here is a brief introduction to my contributions over the past six months as a Senior Polkadot Ambassador:
I co-founded the Budapest Blockchain Community Week with other local blockchain communities in March
I organized the most attended on-site event of the blockchain week, the Polkadot Day in March
I organized 6 Polkadot Meetups in my region: Polkadot and Kusama - Hungary | Meetup in the past 6 months (20+ events in the last two years)
I co-organized the Polkadot Championship Hackathon in December 2023
I represented Polkadot and gave a presentation on stage to an audience of over 100+ people on Polkadot and JAM at a local crypto event, Blockchain Budapest.
I have not only attended but I was an emcee on the last Sub0 in Bangkok, Thailand at Builder Space B.; (and on the 2023 Sub0 in Lisbon as well at Starter Space A. in 2023.)
I am constantly building the Polkadot Hungary Community with my team, both in real life and on-chain:
DAO: Co-created the Polkadot Hungary Community as a multisig
Staking: Established the Polkadot Hungary Nomination Pool for the local community (Pool ID: 219)
OpenGov: Actively participating in the decision making and represent the Polkadot Hungary Community on-chain
I am working on fostering knowledge sharing between Cardano & Polkadot with UniFires
In addition to this, I have recently been recruited to a research center, CSS Budapest, where I am conducting blockchain research and using my expertise to present Substrate as the most powerful blockchain builder framework and the entire Polkadot ecosystem in depth.
A paragraph about why I would like to benefit from sponsorship.
I would like to attend the next Polkadot Decoded in Brussels, as I always love connecting with others in real life. I would love to meet the global Polkadot Community in person and exchange ideas to foster new collaborations. Additionally, attending the event is not only beneficial for me but also for my local Polkadot Community in Hungary. I will write a brief article about the event and share it on the largest local crypto medium site, Cryptofalka.
Thank you for considering my application!
Vikk is everywhere where something crypto related is happening in Hungary and talks about Polkadot. Most of these happenings would not even happen if he did not organize them. I strongly support that he should be invited in Decoded.
easy yes, itĀ“is completely necessary that the community members that are pushing DOT in their countries comes to the Decoded
Aye to the legend!
I have known Mark since the beginning of 2023, as he has visited our local Polkadot Meetups in Budapest several times, which I organised. Mark has a solid developer background within the Cardano ecosystem and has a very nice and collaborative attitude. He is also continuously learning the basics of Substrate, and he is eager to create a light-client-based bridge between Polkadot (probably the Bridge Hub System Chain) and Cardano. I strongly support him in getting the sponsorship for Decoded.
