Job title: Developer Relations | Technical Writer | Substrate & Polkadot developer

Summary about me:

I am a blockchain developer focused on Polkadot technology and its ecosystem since late 2021. My main skills are: technical development, marketing, business, and infrastructure consulting. I have primarily focused on teaching how to build on Polkadot through in-person events, technical workshops, and structured guides.

Summary of my recent contributions:

  1. I started a project with some friends called ink!Pay, which will use Substrate, ink!, and integrations with USDC and DOT. This dApp aims to create a decentralized application that allows payment processing to various entities (Claro, Amazon, Telcel, Microsoft, and others) using cryptocurrencies, all managed from a single app. We’ve been in the planning phase and will soon begin production. Here’s the public repository → GitHub - Juminstock/ink-pay: zkP2P dApp to make swaps and recieve credits in USDC | USDT to MEX | COL 💸.

  2. Since I began contributing to the Polkadot ecosystem, I’ve focused on creating technical content that helps new users understand where to start and how to build on Polkadot and its parachains. I’ve written technical content, video tutorials, and threads on X, and much more. You can view all the content I’ve created in the last 6 months here:

4.1 I’m working on building an application with real, guided technical tutorials to help new developers navigate. The application is constantly being developed, and I already have a part of it completed. The goal is to have 10 robust and complete technical tutorials by the end of the year. You can see the repository and the deployed app here → GitHub - Juminstock/polkadot-speedrun: Intensive technical workshop focused on the certification of Polkadot technology.

4.2 Additionally, I contributed to the W3F documentation with a small change that was approved. Although minor, I continue to consistently review and contribute to improving the documentation → Update: Change the old smoldot link for the recently link by Juminstock · Pull Request #5956 · w3f/polkadot-wiki · GitHub

3.3 I have also contributed to the documentation of Astar Network → Spanish Translations by Gunit2481 · Pull Request #651 · AstarNetwork/astar-docs · GitHub

3.4 I designed an important command for the swanky-cli development tooling → Feature/clear command by Juminstock · Pull Request #189 · inkdevhub/swanky-cli · GitHub

3.5 Lastly, I have generated issues in the Protofire and Kodadot repositories → Error proposing a builder transaction · Issue #153 · protofire/ink-multisig-ui · GitHub, HTTP error to upload images on IPFS · Issue #10590 · kodadot/nft-gallery · GitHub

Abstract about me:

I am a blockchain developer member of the Polkadot ecosystem since 2021 involved in development, community and enterprise business roles as a senior ambassador of the old program but beside do not be a HA i keep my activity collaboration with the ecosystem with my own resources. In the last year I have made contributions to train developers in the use of Rust and Substrate.

Summary of my recent contributions:

  • Deep Rust knowledge course for NTT DATA employees (from November 2023 to March 2024). Link

  • Organizer and technical speaker at Rust and Substrate workshop at university, computer science department (duration 2 days, February 2024). Link

  • Creator of Polkador Builder Workflow Version 1 (January 2024 - currently preparing version 2). Link

  • Organizer and technical mentor of a hackathon focused on the use of Rust and Substrate for Dapps (duration 4 days, June 2024). Link

Motivation:
After several months of collaborative work and after receiving suggestions from several leading developers in the ecosystem (Shawn, Kian, Gossamer team, Radhakrishna) I made my proposal like speaker to present the second version of the Polkador Builder Workflow, which is a tool that allows a visual explanation of the different computing components available in Polkadot so that any developer can have a complete context at the software architecture level in a faster and more efficient way. It is a very useful tool to identify which component of the network to focus their development efforts on that fits perfectly to be used during the activity.

Saimon has organized various events and workshops since the beginning of Polkadot, staying active and using his own funds to carry out the workshops, which have been key to the expansion of Polkadot in other provinces of Peru. He undoubtedly deserves sponsorship. :raised_hands:t2:

Summary about me:
I’m a builder and entrepreneur, working on Blockchain and Web3 since 2021, and I joined the Polkadot ecosystem this year. First, as a student at the PBA in Singapore (remote track) and then at the Polkadot Hackathon 2024 Singapore, winning second place in the “New chain with Polkadot SDK” track.
Now, I’m putting together a team to join the JAM Prize, focusing on the C# language (I’m a former Microsoft MVP, so I have the experience for it).
I am also building Araucano (since the hackathon), a new Polkadot SDK network focusing on Open Finance for emerging countries, and we are making good progress towards being a new parachain early next year.

Why I would like this sponsorship:
I am applying to learn more about the community, to become more involved in contributing with my experience of more than 14 years, to expand my network of contacts (with friends, those interested in joining our new project, mentors, and investors), and finally, to bring everything I have learned to Chile to share with the communities.

Hello, our project Guardian DeFi is built on Substrate, the blockchain development technology used by Vara Network. We are developing Guardian DeFi, a protocol that leverages all the advantages Substrate offers, such as the flexibility to customize modules and the ability to ensure interoperability. Guardian DeFi will be positioned as the first liquid staking protocol on the Vara blockchain, which is set to launch on mainnet soon. We haven’t launched yet due to ongoing audits and continuous improvements, ensuring we provide a solid and secure product since this protocol will manage a crucial part of the network: staking.

Another key aspect is the security and scalability that Substrate provides, thanks to its advanced tools like the WASM runtime.

We have made significant progress this year, integrating multiple improvements into our smartcontracts and optimizing the user experience. Here are some of our key repositories:

And this is the most recent one we are currently working on:

*** A paragraph explaining why you would like to benefit from this sponsorship.**

For me, as the cofounder and developer of Guardian DeFi, attending Sub0 would represent an opportunity for both professional and personal growth. As a developer working within the Substrate ecosystem, being at this event would allow me to learn directly from other innovators and strengthen the implementation of cutting-edge technology in Guardian. This event is not only a chance to gain deeper technical knowledge but also to connect with other developers and leaders building the future of Web3.

I am deeply motivated by the idea of taking my project to its fullest potential and contributing to the DeFi ecosystem on Polkadot, as well as helping improve the experience for end users. My goal is to keep learning and growing, not just as a developer, but also as a leader, sharing everything Guardian DeFi has to offer and opening doors to collaborate with other brilliant minds in the ecosystem. Attending Sub0 would be a crucial step to advancing in this journey, and for me, it would be a transformative experience in my career.

Building Pop Platform - a Polkadot development platform

One of my latest contributions has been to Pop Docs for creating a parachain, running a parachain, spinning up a Polkadot network, onboarding to Paseo, etc. As well as Docs on ink! smart contracts. All the Pop Docs were created by me.

This year, I started doing a series of video tutorials teaching how to build on Polkadot:

Top 10 for the year: Users - Substrate and Polkadot Stack Exchange

Polkadot Treasury recipient: Pop Network | Enabling simple and powerful smart contract development, with DOT | Polkassembly

DF grant recipient: Decentralized Futures: Introducing Play on Polkadot (POP) | by Web3 Foundation Team | Web3 Foundation | Medium

PBA Alumni (Buenos Aires)

Applied to speak at Sub0 about Pop. Also, in discussion with Sub0 team into having a stand to demo how to use Pop CLI to build parachains and smart contracts.
