I’m Florentina. As an active member of the ecosystem I would be honored to attend sub0 symbiosis and I am applying to this sponsorship to help cover some of the costs of the plane ticket and accommodation to get to Buenos Aires.

Summary of Last 6 months of activities as community member:

I arrived to the ecosystem during wave 1 of PBA-X in January 2025 and since then it has been a deep dive into the ecosystem. I immediately got involved and have not stopped since :wink:

Here are my main areas of participation:

DN Program: I applied to the W3F’s DN program and have been selected for:

Cohort 2 & 2.1 - 2 Kusama validator nodes

Cohort 3 - 2 Polkadot validator nodes and 2 Kusama validator nodes

My nodes are located in Colombia & Peru and I am very proud to contribute to decentralization by having very high performing nodes in LATAM despite the latency to more densely populated regions.

OpenGov: becoming active in governance, reading, evaluating and voting proposals, initially on my own as ValidAndina delegate and more recently as a voting member of Le Nexus delegate (DV Cohorts 3 & 5).

Some of you might know me from AAG. I participate weekly, as a member of the panel on:

  • AAG Kusama
  • AAG Polkadot
  • AAG en Español

French-speaking community: member of the bureau of Le Nexus DAO.

  • Active participation and contributions to Le Nexus’ discord server for french-speaking members
  • Voting member of Le Nexus voting pool (currently DV)
  • Attended SHAKA Biarritz with other DAO members, representing and explaining Polkadot in France
  • Participated recently in the Twitter Space “DV meets Community” together with other members of Le Nexus DAO.

Spanish-speaking community: continuously interacting with the Spanish speaking members of the ecosystem (LATAM & Europe). I have participated as a guest in different online lives and spaces on YouTube and Twitter, on accounts such as: El Kus, Polkadot Americas and the official Polkadot en Español account.

Women in Polkadot: Joined the group Women in Polkadot and since June 2025, I proposed the initiative of having monthly Twitter Spaces open to everyone (not just women). Inviting people to participate and come meet some of the featured profiles of the women in the ecosystem with the goal of making new connections and continuing to build together.

I have hosted the 1st & 2nd editions and we recently had our 3rd edition where we will start rotating the host. Our 4th session is already in the works and we would like to introduce the sub0 symbiosis along with other women from the ecosystem.

IRL events: I also have participated in some recent IRL events such as Web3 Summit in Berlin and SHAKA in Biarritz and I am looking forward to continuing to participate in other events such as Dark Prague and of course sub0 symbiosis in Buenos Aires :star_struck:

Motivation to attend:

For the past 8+ months I have been dedicated 100% to Polkadot & Kusama. Finding this community has been extraordinary for me, since I have been able to find so many other likeminded individuals who are contributing to creating a better world, one based on Web3 values and placing decentralization, ownership and privacy at the forefront. I am convinced that we each bring our own contributions and I feel that I am able to use my skills and experience to build useful connections inside our community. I am particularly interested in governance and education and feel that my current knowledge of our ecosystem combined with my language skills (Spanish, English, French) can be key to interacting with attendees of sub0 symbiosis and help build bridges and introduce our technology to different profiles. I am originally from Colombia (South America) and although I have not lived there for 17+ years, I keep strong ties to my country and the LATAM region and I also contribute to the security of the network with my validator nodes in Bogotá & Lima. I would also like to take this opportunity to meet IRL many of the active Polkadot agents that I interact with online on a regular basis.
