A new, highly experiential Polkadot flagship conference that combines the best of Decoded and sub0 to create the ultimate multi-day immersion.
TL;DR: From politics to the global economy, it’s wild out there. That’s why WebZero wants to show the world what Polkadot is capable of by combining Decoded and sub0 into one flagship event in Buenos Aires (Nov 14-16, 2025). The event will focus on Polkadot’s resilient infrastructure, cross-ecosystem collaboration, and the JAM protocol. We’ll bring a 72-hour Hackathon, immersive experiences, and a strong community focus. Feedback is welcome as we finalize the details next week.

From political instability to economic uncertainty and a trade war, Web3 is being put through its paces right now, but that means there’s never been a better time to build on resilient infrastructure like Polkadot.
Polkadot has the best tech, talent, and community in the industry, and we think it’s time to take the ecosystem’s visibility to the next level through the most ambitious event strategy yet:
Merging Decoded and sub0 into one flagship event: sub0: symbiosis.
Why merge?
Operating two flagship events separately divides attention and exponentially increases cost. The Polkadot ecosystem deserves the spotlight, and this approach aims to increase effectiveness and efficiency by creating a new conference that features the engineering and the products under the same roof.
The timing for relaunching Polkadot’s flagship event is perfect, with six months’ runway before more than 20,000 of the best and brightest in crypto descend on Buenos Aires for Devconnect in November.
This presents Polkadot with a dual opportunity: to draw in global industry leaders that are in the city for Devconnect, and to show how its tools, technology, and ecosystem can make a powerful impact around the world.
What to expect:
A standout global event that showcases the excellence of Polkadot.
Food, drinks, and tickets are 100% free. Because Web3 is for everyone.
This year’s event will centre around three major themes:
- Resilient infrastructure: Polkadot is leading the way in building decentralized, censorship-resistant infrastructure for the world.
- Bringing the world to Polkadot: Our goal is to extend Polkadot’s reach beyond the ecosystem and seed collaboration with other blockchain networks.
- JAM: The JAM protocol is a game-changer in decentralized computing. We are giving builders the opportunity to put their stamp on JAM at one of the first in-person hackathons.
We’ve already locked down the best venue in the city: a neo-brutalist haven with over 20 rooms in the heart of the city. Think brushed concrete, glass, hard lines, and swimming pools.
What we’re bringing:
- Call for proposals: Open to all ecosystem members - artists, founders, and hackers are invited to showcase their work. This is a conference that is community-driven. Everybody has a voice.
- Free entry, food, and drinks: All events are free to attend, with food and drinks provided throughout the event.
- More activations, fewer talks: Focus on hands-on learning, co-working spaces, and interactive experiences, crafted by Web3 native TV & film production experts.
- Maximum value on a budget: Proven track record of delivering efficient events, with costs kept transparent and low.
- Growing Polkadot’s global community: Building long-term relationships with global developer communities and institutions.
- Keep the sub0 brand active year-round: Regular updates, newsletters, and social media activity to keep the community engaged.
- An eclectic range of side events: Ping pong, LAN parties, brunches, yoga, and more to engage all participants.
- The biggest names in Web3: Hear from Polkadot’s leaders and industry experts across various sectors.
Agenda & curation:
A flagship conference needs to make sure the community is energised and motivated to work on the most critical challenges faced by the industry.
sub0 will be split across two stages:
The Decoded Stage will host ecosystem updates and thought leadership from key Polkadot parachains, alongside contributors from adjacent ecosystems. Topics will include cross-chain governance, DAO evolution, ecosystem health, and public policy.
The Sub0 Stage will focus on the technical frontier — featuring discussions and workshops on JAM, Substrate, and the architecture of next-gen of dApps.
24-Hour Hackathon, developer activations and challenges
The Hackerspace will be open 24/7 for developers to collaborate on real-world projects, refine ideas, and experiment with Polkadot’s tools. It will also host the JAM Hackathon, judged by Gavin Wood. Winners will be awarded a grant of 10k for the 3 best teams to encourage teams to build their ideas further, split up in 5k milestones.
Community engagement
Our strategy is designed to reward active collaboration and long-term community growth.
We are committed to involving the entire Polkadot ecosystem, from developers to non-technical participants, with a strong emphasis on inclusivity. To ensure widespread participation, we will:
-
Double down on our global partner network, focusing on both local and international collaborations.
-
Engage key local partners like Dot LATAM who have extensive experience with grassroots Web3 initiatives in the Spanish-speaking world.
-
Work with NERDCONF, who have successfully onboarded thousands of new developers into Web3 through hackathons and workshops across LATAM & APAC.
-
Collaborate with local organisations to bring in external talent and perspectives, creating an inclusive space for cross-ecosystem collaboration.
Our event will maintain organic engagement with the global community through regular social media updates, monthly newsletters, and collaborations with The Kus and Distractive to keep developer communities active all year round.
We believe shared activities and direct community involvement will drive real, lasting connections within the Polkadot ecosystem, beyond just parties and networking.
Why WebZero
WebZero has been delivering high-impact events within the Polkadot ecosystem since 2022, with a proven track record of over 120 events in 12+ countries, including 5 hackathons and engagements with over 11,000 attendees.
Our sub0 Reset in Bangkok in 2024 demonstrated how effectively we can execute an event in just 8 weeks, transforming an abandoned factory into a 6-floor space with custom stages, 24-hour hackerspaces, and high engagement across the ecosystem.
After 3 years of hosting Polkadot events, with a spotless record of returning funds to the treasury and publishing invoices in full, WebZero is ready to take key events to the next level for the ecosystem.
Let us know what you think. We’d love to hear your thoughts on the upcoming proposal for sub0: symbiosis.
