Decentralized Voices Cohort #5 - LE NEXUS

Le Nexus is the leading French-speaking community in the Polkadot ecosystem, organized as a DAO since August 2024 and now also structured as a legal French association, to formally represent our collective.

We are firm believers in the power of every voice in governance, and seek to amplify this value through Cohort 5 of the Decentralized Voices Program. Our proven track record serving as a DV in Cohort 3 **(**see Data Lake stats: Here) and our continued work during Cohort 4 support this commitment.

Le Nexus was structured notably through the creation of a collective voting process on Discord and an executive committee in charge of strategy.

As an open digital community dedicated to the French-speaking agents of the ecosystem we offer a democratic delegation pool to our members, either if they’d like to get involved in Polkadot’s governance, or if they’d like to delegate their vote to a semi-democratic decision-making body.

Our voting pool includes serious and reputable members of the Polkadot community with diverse backgrounds and interests which allows us to thoroughly understand and evaluate any proposal. We are a heterogeneous group of what makes up the Polkadot ecosystem: agents, founders, builders, PBA graduates, validators, token holders, newbies, media and more.

Our Voting Ethos

With 22 voters from a wide range of backgrounds, the debates are rich and in-depth, ensuring a fair assessment of the proposals, but our philosophy is not set in stone.

However, we will always strive to vote in the best interest of the community and the token holders.

Blockchain governance allows for rapid and dynamic changes, unlike traditional politics. Voting guidelines, inspired by past experience, evolve according to needs and lessons learned.

There will be times we agree, and times we agree to disagree. Our main policy is straightforward: convince us to vote AYE. Proposers may need to fail once, but we encourage everyone to resubmit. It’s okay to be NAY; just improve your proposal.

In short, Le Nexus combines pragmatism and diversity to stimulate growth and innovation within the ecosystem.

Our Contributions

At Le Nexus, we don’t just vote! We build, debate, explain, and connect.

As the leading French-speaking governance hub in the Polkadot ecosystem, we’ve welcomed hundreds of members, onboarded many new voters, and created a space where anyone can pitch a proposal, join a debate, or challenge ideas.

Tools & Transparency

We contributed to improving the OpenGov Bot, making it easier to deploy and better connected to governance platforms like PolkAssembly, Subsquare, and X.

To support transparency, we also built a tool that auto-generates visual summaries of our votes and publishes them on X, so every decision comes with context.

Other tools are on the way, co-designed with the community, to make the Polkadot ecosystem more open, accessible, and user-driven.

Voting with Intention

  • Over 14,300 messages discussing treasury proposals (Polkadot & Kusama combined)

  • 22 verified voters: 7 from our legal Bureau, 15 from the community

  • Over 450 votes cast across both networks

  • Weekly governance calls open to proposers

IRL & Influence

In 2025, Le Nexus significantly expanded its real-world presence across France and Europe:

Alongside this, we played a key role in building strategic partnerships with long-term impact potential for the DOT ecosystem, including Meria, Vitality, and more.

One notable initiative: the Faze x Vitality referendum, initiated and defended by Le Nexus.

While it wasn’t approved, it sparked important discussions and showed that DAOs can bring strategic partnerships to the table.

“Designed by the community, for the community”, win or lose, that’s the spirit!

At the same time, we focused on strengthening our internal backbone. We welcomed a growing wave of French-speaking builders and voters, expanding both our capacity and our cultural voice within the ecosystem.

We streamlined operations from DevRel to BizDev to onboarding, to support that growth without compromising agility. And as always, we let the work speak for itself online and on-chain.

In addition to our contributions mentioned above, we would like to reaffirm our intention to bring together French speakers from around the world and we are committed to continue generating educational content about Polkadot to reach more people in their native language.

Thank you all for your support, and we look forward to continuing this journey with you!
