My name is Jonathan and I work with Distractive (marketing support for Polkadot) - I made this post to announce that we’ll be hosting two upcoming workshops to help ecosystem teams learn all about public relations (PR) and hopefully sharpen their skills around communications, storytelling, and media engagement. Whether you’re gearing up for an announcement or just want to better understand how PR works in Web3, we invite you to join the call and peek behind the curtain.
We’ll cover the basics like what PR is (and isn’t), what makes announcements newsworthy, what information PR teams actually need to help you succeed, the missteps to avoid, and how to collaborate more effectively. There’ll also be time for some Q&A, so bring your burning questions.
I’ll also chat briefly about this on the July 17th episode of AAG - the actual workshops will take place via Google Meet in the following weeks. Everyone is welcome!
RSVP for whichever session is most convenient for you via the following Luma links:
First - thank you @Tzara for taking up this initiative.
I urge anyone who is involved with a project on Polkadot / planning to release a project on Polkadot - or simply just wants to learn more about general PR and how it fits into the marketing scope - to please consider joining these workshops and learn a little more about Organic vs Paid PR, general best practices, story writing & angling - plus, you get to hang out with Jonathan
In a competitive landscape like ours - it really does help to have as many informed, educated and passionate people all swimming in the same direction. Stories can travel far and wide - into places that are very hard to reach - should the proper outlets pick them up and run with them.
Want to thank Jonathan again for this initiative and really hope there is a good turn out!
Let’s get Polkadot back in the news as it rightfully should be.
We attended Jonathan’s workshop last Thursday and really enjoyed it. It gave us valuable insights into PR - how it differs from marketing and how to run an effective PR campaign. Highly recommend it to anyone looking to sharpen their communication strategy.
Firstly, thank you Jonathan & the Distractive team, for hosting these workshops and for their professionalism.
I attended last week’s PR workshop, which was extremely helpful for those who are not well-versed in PR and/or for those who need some tips/reminders. This is a must-watch for everyone building in the ecosystem and looking to get some Marketing/PR support, what goes on behind the scenes, and what you can do as a team to prepare for your upcoming news.
