We firmly believe that we have made an impact in the previous Cohort and we can still support the community with our feedback, commitment and support, demonstrating high efficiency by not being part of large DAOs that concentrate high amounts of votes.

This team represents different voices without affiliations or special interests by actively participating in Open Gov.

Philosophy and Agenda

Trust is placed in the development of OpenGov and decentralized governance models that balance the interests of active ecosystem participants with those of token holders, especially those with significant voting power. Delegation tracks and conviction voting are valuable mechanisms for limiting the influence of certain actors. Furthermore, the initiative by the Web3 Foundation to distribute votes through Decentralized Voices among key figures helps expose a range of opinions and perspectives.

Decentralization should represent a diversity of voices—both technical and non-technical - and provide opportunities for different teams from various communities and regions. It is believed that Polkadot should continue to focus on ecosystem growth, fostering greater adoption of the technology by companies and projects, and strengthening interoperability with other blockchains. Divergent voices are fundamental to consolidating the system and enabling its maturity.

Recognizing the current landscape for promoting Polkadot’s native developments and its future as the largest provider of Web3 cloud services, it is essential to first demonstrate the efficiency of Decentralized Voices towards OpenGov and second, showcase the professionalism required to engage with proposers in a serious manner. With this philosophy, real value can be brought to Polkadot’s OpenGov by showing potential participants - including individuals, startups, DAOs, and companies - how this new on-chain governance tool evolves, offering high engagement and feedback for each participant.

Consensus Process and External Communication

Proposal Analysis and Internal Voting

Each proposal will be assigned to a group member for detailed analysis, following the order of publication. The designated analyst will prepare a concise report to share internally. After reviewing this report, the group will vote internally, with the outcome determined by majority.

Decision Communication

The final decision will be transparently communicated through OpenGov-related platforms and publicly via the group’s official social media channels. Each communication will include a clear summary highlighting the key factors influencing the group’s decision.

Interaction with Proponents

Communication with proponents will primarily occur on OpenGov platforms. An institutional email channel may also be used if proponents wish to provide additional relevant information or require formal contact with the group. Individual communications are discouraged to reinforce the decentralized nature of the team and maintain a process that has proven effective and transparent.

Our honest experience with Trustless Core based on our recent communication with them for our Ref. At first, we weren’t sure how discussions would go since it was only through email, and we didn’t expect quick back-and-forth responses. Like many proposers, we often found ourselves repeating the same points already mentioned in the proposal to the rest of the community (as most don’t go through the proposal fully).

To our surprise, Trustless Core’s feedback was the complete opposite of what we expected as it highlighted every small detail we’d shared. I’m not saying this because their feedback was positive for us, but because it showed a high level of analysis and attention. They had clearly gone through the proposal in depth, even without public channel discussions. That commitment, responsibility, and thoroughness really stood out to us. Plus, they consistently replied to our emails, which showed that even without office hours or a Telegram group, they were efficient and responsible as a DV.
