Activity Report - Polkadot Head Ambassador - Albert (I Love Cripto)

This report aims to showcase my activities and achievements as Head Ambassador of Polkadot, highlighting my contributions in key areas such as the onboarding process, policy creation, event organization, business development, and representing the ecosystem at international events.

1. Document Creation

  • Onboarding Document: I created the ambassador onboarding process document, establishing different categories for each ambassador and assigning the Head Ambassadors as curators, advisors, and instructors. This approach prioritizes quality over quantity in the program.

  • Code of Conduct: I drafted the document and presented the first version to the Head Ambassadors team, alongside the onboarding process document.

  • Transparency in Calls: I initiated the discussion to stream the Head Ambassadors’ calls live, similar to what the Fellowship does, to provide greater transparency to the community.

2. Participation in the Events Working Group (WG)

I am an active member of the Events Working Group, an area where I can contribute significant expertise. I regularly attend meetings and collaborate on the planning and execution of key ecosystem events.

3. Attendance at Meetings and Calls

I have attended all Head Ambassadors’ calls, except for one, and have actively participated in WG Events meetings, as well as those related to the Code of Conduct, demotion process, and the onboarding process.

4. Sponsorships and Event Representation

I have continued working for the community, securing five sponsorships for major events in Spain and France, and have represented Polkadot as a speaker at these events. Key highlights include:

  • BlockGalicia: A Web3 event in northern Spain where Polkadot was a sponsor. I gave a presentation on Polkadot 2.0 to an audience of 1,000 people, many from institutions and major companies like Inditex, Abanca, and Banco Santander, among others. I was also interviewed for the Fun on the Ride news YouTube channel.

  • European Blockchain Convention (EBC): During the EBC, Polkadot was a Gold Sponsor. I organized the entire Polkadot representation at the event, managing the booth design, merchandising, speaker travel logistics, and interacting with companies to attract new use cases to the ecosystem. Although I couldn’t give a presentation due to Events Bounty restrictions, I handed over the opportunity to Radha Dasari from W3F. We also hosted a panel with parachains like Aventus, EWX, Kilt, Archinial, and Web3Foundation, moderated by Ursula from Scytale Digital.

  • Merge Madrid: I secured a Gold Sponsorship and a VIP Party Sponsorship to maximize institutional impact and reach the big players in Spain. This event is upcoming, and I’m preparing my keynote to represent Polkadot and discuss Polkadot 1.0 and Polkadot 2.0. In addition to my keynote, I have managed the booth design, merchandising, and all administrative and logistical preparations.

  • Valencia Digital Summit (VDS): This event focuses on Web2 projects, and the strategy is to show these companies that a new economic model is possible. Polkadot will have a booth at this event, and I will be presenting a keynote.

  • NFT Paris 2025: Together with Adrián from CoinRef, we have secured Polkadot as a sponsor for NFT Paris 2025.

5. Business Development

I have continued my role as Business Developer in Spain and Andorra, securing multiple leads interested in building on Polkadot. One of the most significant achievements is positioning Polkadot as the Web3 Tech Hub of the country, in addition to a partnership in progress that will allow a bank to offer DOT to its customers. Due to confidentiality, I can’t share further details at this moment, but I will provide a detailed report soon.

6. Involvement in the Spanish-Speaking Community

I remain active in the Spanish-speaking community, participating in channels like Cryptonitas, and fulfilling my duties as a curator in the Spanish-Speaking Bounty, contributing to the growth and strengthening of the ecosystem in this region.

This report summarizes my work to date as a Head Ambassador. I remain committed to the expansion and promotion of Polkadot, continuously seeking new opportunities and representing the ecosystem in future initiatives.

Albert is the most important agent in Spain.

He has created great events for Polkadot in the region and has also been a speaker at major Blockchain events in Spain to talk about Polkadot.

His proposals are always well structured and executed. He should continue to be recognized and supported as a fundamental part of the Hispanic community.

Thanks Albert. Appreciate your willingness to share.

I obviously understand the sensitivity around some BD activity however it is an obvious concern to the community that a lot of people could hide behind this rationale. (Far from saying this is what you are doing, particularly as you have committed to following up with more detail.)

I think it is important that people who are wanting to get paid figure out a better way to demonstrate their efforts, results and targets in order to win over community sentiment. This will be especially true if we do move away from the base salary model and more toward a program along the like of what @shawntabrizi has laid out.

Basically, there has to be something in-between “I cannot share any of my BD activities but trust me” and “I’m doxing everyone and everything that i speak about, sensitive or not.”

Lets find a more regular reporting system with that balance and start implementing it. This only serves to bolster the credibility of the good folks who are really working and shines a light on those who have clearly not.

Good job getting out there as one of the first to post a report.

Hi @Murphy ,

First of all, I’d like to thank you for the respectful tone of your comment. I truly appreciate it, especially in moments like this.

I completely agree with your point, and it’s something I’ve been thinking on over the last week. I will work on finding the best way to provide greater transparency in this point—focusing on less trust, more truth.

Allow me some time to assess which leads are more mature and carry less risk of being compromised, and I’ll get back to you soon!

Best regards,
Albert
