Staking problems I'm experiencing

Hi guys I’ll be posting some of the issues I’ve been experiencing recently hoping somebody has answers.

  1. https://staking.polkadot.cloud/ has been kinda slow recently. Is it just me? Why?

  2. Screenshot 2024-12-15 010652 <–over the last few months APY went from almost 18% to this. Why?

  3. Like most Polkadot stuff I think even the staking dashboard has never been user-friendly, it really seems it has been created by someone that doesn’t want people to use it. Anyway… I’m unable to find the pool commission of my pool. I’ve read that I might be earning less because they can change their commission. If I go to Pools → All pools I can see various pools with their commissions but I can’t see mine.
    Mine is: StackIT - Italian comunity staking pool. Can someone tell me what is it and if it’s related to my problem number 2?
    I’ve been also told that I might be earning less because they’re not working well… how do I check this?

Thanks in advance to anyone who will answer and please, make the UX more user-friendly.

Don’t know for sure, but this darn well looks scammy and is sure as heck an anti-pattern.

Getting help should be in the UI or one of the Polkadot community or other sites, not some random domain.

  • For awareness, since he deleted the link making my comment look stupid, the comment was posted by Profile - Sun-Mon - Polkadot Forum

EDIT 2:

  • Now he deleted the entire post. :clown_face:

I wouldn’t say all projects are like user-hostile, but yes, I used that staking dashboard and was wondering how someone can create such a relatively large app and make it so hard to use.

Context: I’ve been a validator on another (not Polkadot) Substrate chain for several years. Earlier this week I was looking at the Polkadot staking app because I thought - because of its powerful-looking interface - it may provide insights we don’t get in our own staking app and despite clicking around for 5-10 minutes couldn’t find anything more useful that we have in our simple staking app. It was worse in fact (in our existing app we also can’t find much, but at least the user doesn’t need to waste time reaching that conclusion).

My second point - which I often mention here - is that this is another example why most treasury tokens should be burned rather than spent as they are…

@ross (sorry for the ping)
The link to the staking dashboard’s discord support server is no longer valid–is there a new one available?
(I’m talking about the link in this tweet.)

Hey @mister_cole ,

The updated Discord invite link is in another tweet directly below the tweet you shared, but there is also the Discord button on the Staking Dashboard itself.

I received an email notifying me a message and from what I’ve read it was scam. It’s really absurd that scammers got even here. BTW no answers to my most problematic questions so far! :disappointed_relieved:

Hi @Shotokhan ,

Let me help address your concerns:

1 - Regarding the slow dashboard performance - could you check which connection type you’re using? You can find this under the Network tab on the left-hand side. There are two options:
• Light Client
• RPC

If you’re experiencing slowness, trying different RPC providers might help improve your experience.

2- The APY decrease is actually due to a recent network-wide change. The Polkadot community voted on Referendum 1139 to adjust the inflation rate. You can read more about the reasoning and details behind this change in the official announcement here.

3- Regarding the UX feedback, we take this seriously and want to improve. Could you send your specific suggestions to the contact email available on the staking dashboard or join our Discord? This would help us understand exactly what improvements would make the dashboard more user-friendly for you.

staking.polkadot.cloud is Very slow, Staking at Polkadot JS is very very very slow

can you report that message or account?

Hello, thank you! Here’s my comments about your answers:

  1. I checked and I was using Light Client, I’ve just switched to RPC (a random one). Tomorrow I’ll check if something changed;

  2. thanks, this explains why. I didn’t get exactly ther reason behind the referendum as I don’t follow much the DAO however I think it could have been better to just stop inflation completely. Should I expect APY to lower further or this is it?

  3. I will send write the suggestions to the email. I tried to enter the Discord yesterday and he said I couldn’t, I couldn’t use the invitation or something like this. I used the Discord months ago but then I left… but it was me to leave, nobody banned me.

Thank you
