Attending Sub0 is an opportunity to connect and reconnect with LATAM fellows, exchange ideas, update projects, meet new people from the ecosystem, and find peers interested in or working with Digital Identity in the ecosystem.

Additionally, it’s essential to consider the context in Argentina regarding stablecoins and crypto assets. This is an opportunity for market research, user experience analysis, and use case exploration.

Background and Experience in Web3

I have been involved in the crypto ecosystem for more than four years, actively participating in tournaments and blockchain events worldwide. These experiences helped me understand how blockchain and gaming can work together to drive real adoption and community growth.

Now I am ready to bring my content creation skills fully into the Polkadot ecosystem. I have already started this journey through the Mythos games on Polkadot, and Sub0 Symbiosis will be the opportunity to strengthen this work and take it to the next level.

Recent contributions in Polkadot / Mythos

  • Game Nights (pilot stage): Organized two sessions with 5–12 participants each, focused on games such as Pudge Party, FIFA Rivals and NFL Rivals. These events were designed as onboarding activities for Web2 users into Web3, using gameplay as a practical entry point. Most of the work took place on Discord, building community and guiding participants step by step into the ecosystem.

  • Content and community: Shared explanations and guidance on Discord, and currently preparing a plan to create bilingual content (Spanish and English) in the form of videos, live streams and short-form content, to scale awareness and education about Polkadot regionally and globally.

  • Participation in events and workshops: I have participated as a community member in two activities in Chile, one focused on programming and another focused on talking around Polkadot. These experiences allowed me to learn and engage directly with the ecosystem. Now, I am taking a more active role by preparing a community event in Chile focused on Mythical Games, to showcase how these titles can be a gateway to the Polkadot ecosystem.

  • Mythos Ambassador: Active ambassador role for the Mythos ecosystem, directly connected with projects and games already building on Polkadot, promoting adoption and teaching new users.

Motivation to attend Sub0 Symbiosis

My main motivation to participate in Sub0 Symbiosis in Buenos Aires is the opportunity to directly connect with teams and experts in the ecosystem, in order to take my role as content creator and ambassador to the next level.

I am already building initiatives inside Polkadot, but with the experience and knowledge from Sub0, I will be able to scale, professionalize and maximize my impact, both for my community in Chile and for the wider Polkadot ecosystem.

Expected impact

  • During the event:

    • Produce and share bilingual (Spanish/English) content in real time about learnings and experiences.

    • Connect with projects to produce more targeted and useful content for the community.

  • After the event:

    • Expand Game Nights to include more games and Polkadot-based applications.

    • Organize meetups in Chile with a focus on Polkadot education and adoption.

    • Create live streams, short-form videos and educational sessions to keep promoting the ecosystem.

    • Build long-term collaborations with teams and projects I meet at the event.

  • Co-organizing Polkadot Global Hackathon Prep Event in Accra (Sept 26, 2025) with Tugwa Victor (@Vickysnipes147 on X). I serve as non-technical mentor & community advocate, managing logistics and mentoring devs for hackathon readiness. (Luma link: ROAD TO SUB0 BUILDER PARTY (GHANA) · Luma )

My team and I are also going to participate in the Polkadot global hackathon and tweet/blog about how we used evm compatible smart contracts on Polkadot to build an amazing dApp to advocate for Polkadot’s compatibility with evm and developers who don’t rust or ink! are welcome to build on Polkadot.

My active participation in hackathons and being able to win bounties is an inspiring and thought-provoking leadership example to the women I am onboarding to web3 ecosystem. I have the experience to share insights about how to position yourself to win hackathons and will share this experience and insights at the Accra Meetup Road to Sub0 event to encourage and excite the developers

Community Leadership & Events:

  1. Organizing events to align Ghanaian builders with the Polkadot ecosystem right after EthAccra, while spirits and momentum are high.
  2. Supporting the logistics and mentorship aspects of Polkadot workshops, and prepared to host future technical workshops under my advocate role.

Proof of Work:

Videos/photos from Polkadot Hackathon Prep Event (Sept 26, 2025) – will be shared as update.

Motivation for Sponsorship:

I am applying for sponsorship to attend Polkadot Symbiosis in Buenos Aires because this gathering is critical for aligning global Polkadot leaders. As a community advocate, HER DAO steward, and DevSecOps learner, I aim to:

  • Represent the African women builders’ perspective and men developers as well in Polkadot Africa and globally.
  • Grow the ecosystem in Ghana at high speed and make Polkadot top of mind when it comes to Blockchain.
  • Strengthen connections with technical mentors to scale our roadmap of onboarding women into Polkadot.
  • Gain deeper insights into PolkaVM, governance, and security practices, so I can localize knowledge and teach it in Ghana.

I see myself not just as a participant but as a bridge: bringing Polkadot’s global momentum back to Ghana just like Ethereum and other chains, especially to the women I am actively onboarding through H.E.R. DAO Ghana. Sponsorship will ensure my community benefits directly from my attendance, knowledge-sharing, and strengthened ecosystem connections and being able to attend Sub0 Symbiosis as part of H.E.R. DAO hacker team in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

I am a UX Designer, content creator and can handle everything non-tech. I am also into gaming where I occasionally stream and play Pudgy Party (Mobile Game) regularly and completing in the top positions on the leaderboard continuously.

    My Work in PolkaDot:

Right now I am maintaining a ecosystem directory used by multiple people (private directory updated on a daily basis) for investing and taking part in limited time events. For example if any campaign has started the directory gets updated and the users benefit from it. This can also be called as a Polkadot tracker to track content, competitions, incentives and quests which will benefit it’s users. Since the directory is private and maintained by me, I want to travel to this event to not only open a free-version (displays all projects not live news) for all the participants in the PolkaDot Ecosystem but to learn and get feedback from them as well (onboarding is a bonus)

Since this is a public forum I won’t be sharing the PolkaDot Directory but I will share a similar directory which I have built: Solana Directory (pubic version is ready) currently being used by multiple X content creators and users from the ecosystem.

I am still quite early in PolkaDot since I first met the PolkaDot founder last year in Singapore during the Token2049 week. This was also the first time I had downloaded my first wallet called Nova Wallet.

I have been into the Web3 space since 2 years (completed college this year) and have been involved majorly in Solana and Sui. This would be my first-hand experience learning directly from the team, building and launching my public Polkadot directory for everyone in the event as well.

My achievements in Solana Blockchains in 2 years:

    • Built Solana Directory (hub of Solana projects)
    • Member Solana Collective (active)
    • Guardian Solflare Wallet (top performer)
    • Chompian CHOMP (top performer)
    • Designer Goalpost (design tables)
    • Attendee Solana Hackerhouses (2023, 2024)
    • Attendee Solana Conference (2024) and will be attending 2025 as well
    • 10x + Bounty Winner Superteam Earn
    • Solana Ecosystem Call Host
    • Squid Game Send Arcade (winner)
    • Idea giver to Send Arcade (Plinko Game)
    • People & Ops in Jungle_Kabal
    • Working for NftDaki, FabianoSolana and other content creators in the space as well.

    and a few more…

  • A paragraph explaining why the applicant would like to benefit from sponsorship

Many factors come into play when I apply for this sponsorship, including how I can convince boss for the leave from my current Web2 job. For the past two years, I have contributed to the public good in Web3 without expecting anything in return, building friendships and recognition along the way. I want to bring this same dedication and energy to Polkadot. In the past, I have represented my company in Dubai as an intern and even used two months of internship savings to travel to Singapore, where I first engaged with the Polkadot community. My work has earned me student tickets for Solana Breakpoint, Token2049, and other events, which gave me valuable exposure to the global ecosystem.

I have also scaled my own community from 0 to 1,000 members in just 24 hours and to 5,000 in under a week, all with zero marketing budget, relying only on events, networking, and partnerships. Attending Sub0 Symbiosis would allow me to continue this journey, representing Polkadot and bringing back ideas, stories, and connections that will help grow the ecosystem further.

After reviewing the expenses, the total cost including visa, hotel, and flights comes to around $2,100 of which $150 is for the visa.

Thank You for the opportunity.

I am a Polkadot Content Creator. For 2 years, I have published more than 50 tutorial videos about Polkadot, helping the Spanish-speaking community understand the Polkadot ecosystem step by step from 0 in a very simple way.

I am presenting myself for this proposal because I want to connect with developers, creators, and users of Polkadot. At the event, I can be a speaker, I can record and edit content both in Spanish and in English, and deliver it in record time. Regarding being a speaker, I can speak with full confidence about how to enter the Polkadot ecosystem, show newcomers how simple it is to start in the ecosystem, how to use rollups in a very simple way, which projects they can use and it is convenient for them to use. I can give very prepared and complete talks.

In the field of Polkadot coding, the truth is I am in the early stages of learning, but still I can help with anything simple. I have full availability to be helpful and assist in everything I can at the event.

Here I leave some videos I have made in the last 6 months. Thank you very much in advance.

Bio & Contributions:

I am a Web3 strategist and community builder actively involved in multiple ecosystems including Polkadot, Avalanche, Stellar, HerDAO, Girls in Crypto Hub, and Somnia. My focus has been on onboarding and educating new users in Africa, building bridges between global protocols and local communities.

Speaker at ETH Safari 2025, where I gave a talk on Onboarding the Next Billion into Web.

Contributed to Polkadot events(support, engagement, and research on the Polkadot Academy).

Actively applied to the Polkadot Ambassador Program and Web3 Foundation initiatives, demonstrating my commitment to deepening my role in the ecosystem.

Created content on Instagram and other platforms highlighting Polkadot and onboarding opportunities.https://www.instagram.com/p/DH0QIngNbEb/?igsh=NjZlNzgzZTRrc3do

Supported hackathons, activations, and community engagements across Africa to grow awareness of blockchain technology.

Why I Want to Attend Polkadot Symbiosis:

There is a vibrant but fragmented Polkadot-curious community in Kenya and East Africa. Many people know Polkadot in silos but lack a unified space or structured onboarding. Attending Symbiosis will allow me to:

Connect with global Polkadot builders and bring back insights that can be localized for African communities.

Share my learnings through community calls, workshops, and posts to ensure that the knowledge spreads beyond myself.

Explore ways to establish a more cohesive East African Polkadot community hub, bridging the gap between local interest and global ecosystem opportunities.

Strengthen collaboration with projects seeking to expand into Africa by building partnerships and educational pipelines.

Motivation:

Polkadot is more than technology, it’s an opportunity to unlock inclusion, education, and collaboration across borders. Sponsorship to attend Symbiosis would allow me to represent African voices, contribute to meaningful discussions, and build bridges that ensure Polkadot grows stronger in untapped regions.

Hi everyone! :chile:

Name

Carlos Araujo

Country / Region

Santiago, Chile – LATAM (Americas)

Summary of activities in the last six months

Active member of ChileDAO, participating in the organization (collaborating with MR Excel) and production of meetups and educational activities around Polkadot in Chile. Some of the events I have collaborated with and been part of:

  • “Prepárate para la Nerdconf” (meetup before the hackathon, May).

  • Open Meetup Vol. 1 (June).

  • Block Camp – 3-day bootcamp at USACH University (July).

  • Open Meetup Vol. 2 (August).

  • “De 0 a Dev” (September).

I also participated in Polkadot Americas online discussions, such as Monday Night DOT #12:
https://x.com/i/broadcasts/1vAxRDrRDvVGl

In addition, I have been consistently collaborating with the local community by creating audiovisual and graphic content to promote activities and strengthen Polkadot’s identity in the region. I regularly share this work on my page:
:backhand_index_pointing_right: Nous Creative Lab (Instagram)

Currently, I am enrolled in the PBA X Wave 4, with the goal of expanding my knowledge, gaining a deeper understanding of the technical aspects of the ecosystem, and continuing to contribute from a role of strategic communication and community-building.

Motivation

Although my background is as a publicist, audiovisual creator, and artist (dancer), I have been actively working to increase Polkadot’s visibility in Chile and Latin America. My motivation is to keep building bridges between artists, creators, developers, projects, and the community through clear, effective, and accessible communication strategies.

Attending Sub0 Symbiosis in Buenos Aires is a key opportunity to connect with builders from all over the world, strengthen regional networks, and bring back valuable insights that will help consolidate Polkadot’s growth in our region. I am convinced that effective communication and community building are just as important as building technology, and my contribution is right at that intersection.

  • Open Meetup Vol. 2 (design by me).

Summary of activities (last six months):

In the past six months, I have been actively building and contributing within the Polkadot ecosystem, focusing on both protocol-level innovation and community engagement.

  1. Polkadot Blockchain Academy (PBA): Graduated with distinction from PBA5 (Singapore Cohort), gaining deep technical knowledge of Polkadot’s core design, JAM, and Substrate. (+5 points – Alumni PBA)

  2. JAM for Scala (jam4s): I am developing a Scala implementation of the JAM protocol. Due to JAM Prize rules, the repository is not yet public, but I have published educational content that makes JAM concepts accessible for developers:

  3. W3F Grant Recipient: I am the recipient of a Web3 Foundation grant for Hedgepay (hedgepay.app), a self-custodial mobile app that enables stablecoin payments in regions facing hyperinflation, starting with Latin America and Asia. (+5 points – W3F Grant)

  4. Community Engagement:

    • I provided direct feedback to the PAPI team regarding their light client implementation and was among the first to successfully integrate the Polkadot light client into a React Native mobile app

    • Through Hedgepay, I actively introduce new developers and merchants to Polkadot’s technology stack, highlighting Polkadot’s edge in delivering fast, seamless on-chain payments

Motivation for Sponsorship:

As I finish up the final deliverables for Hedgepay, my focus is shifting toward introducing the product to users and connecting with partners, merchants, and clients. Polkadot Symbiosis in Buenos Aires provides the perfect platform to kickstart this process.

My objectives at Symbiosis are:

  • Hedgepay Launch & Adoption: Present Hedgepay as a real-world stablecoin payment solution for regions experiencing hyperinflation. By connecting with local merchants, ecosystem builders, and potential partners, I want to accelerate adoption and establish Hedgepay as a gateway product that brings new users onto Polkadot.

  • Partnership Building: Meet with ambassadors, builders, and ecosystem leaders to create collaborations that extend Hedgepay’s distribution, integrating more businesses and communities with Polkadot’s infrastructure.

  • Knowledge Transfer: Share my learnings from the PBA Protocol Track and from developing JAM4S.

  • Ecosystem Growth: Demonstrate how products like Hedgepay can drive real user growth in the ecosystem, bringing both transactions and long-term network effects to parachains and Substrate-based tooling.

I believe that attending Symbiosis will enable me to position Hedgepay as one of the first user-facing products bridging real-world needs with Polkadot technology, helping scale Polkadot’s reach in Latin America and beyond

Motivation for Sponsorship

This mission is why I am focused on Blockchain development at Latin America. Having reached 500K audiences throughout 4 years working on Web3, I’ve seen how the lines between different ecosystems are blurring, creating powerful new opportunities for the LATAM Region, where I fit on the middle of these confluences. The DAO use cases that Polkadot promotes, resonates with Cardano’s DAO governance experience and my expertise on Clarity Protocol, the leading DAO infrastructure on Cardano.

On other hand, development of Midnight—a data-protection partner chain for Cardano built with the Polkadot SDK (Substrate)—is a perfect example of this strategic convergence. It shows that the future is interoperable and that the tools built by the Polkadot community are foundational for the entire Web3 space.

Attending Polkadot Symbiosis is a crucial opportunity for me to dive deep into the technology that is bridging these worlds, DAOs and governance on-chain on one hand, and common technology with Polkadot’s substrate underlying Cardano’s Midnight, on the other. My goal is to learn directly from Polkadot’s core builders so I can better architect solutions for the Latin American market and guide our communities toward these collaborative futures.

This sponsorship also has strategic importance for Polkadot’s visibility at a national level. I am in conversations with the Chilean Government’s Innovation Laboratory to develop an official blockchain course for its 600,000 public sector workers. Attending Symbiosis will directly enhance the curriculum, creating a unique opportunity to introduce Polkadot’s technology to a massive and influential audience.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
