Proposal for a collaborative platform with positive social impact

Hello Polkadot Community,

I would like to share with you my proposal for DotCollaborate, a platform born out of a need I’ve personally felt within the community. As I explored and interacted with the Polkadot ecosystem, I noticed a gap: a lack of a specific place where projects can collaborate, post announcements, and find skilled individuals eager to contribute. DotCollaborate aims to fill that gap by becoming the collaborative hub for our ecosystem.

I am excited to share with you our vision for DotCollaborate, a new platform aimed at driving collaboration and positive social impact within the Polkadot ecosystem.

DotCollaborate is a platform designed to bring together projects and contributors, providing a space for task management, job listings, and communication. Our goal is to make Polkadot a hub of productivity, where anyone in the community can connect with projects that need their skills and grow together. In addition, through DotImpact , we plan to introduce a mechanism that channels a portion of platform activity towards charitable and environmental initiatives, thereby ensuring that we not only grow as an ecosystem but also contribute positively to society.

To make the implementation more practical and build trust within the community, we are proposing Phase 1 in a series of mini proposals. You can read the full Phase 1 Proposal here:
DotCollaborate & DotImpact: Medium Spender Proposal, Phase 1

This document outlines the overall plan, covering aspects such as UI/UX, database structure, and feature development.

As a first step, we have also outlined a Mini Proposal that covers the initial phase of Phase 1. This mini proposal will focus on the foundational elements—such as UI/UX design, database design, and the basic login system—which will be crucial for further development. The mini proposal will allow us to get started and deliver results early, enabling the community to see our work without much financial risk involved. You can find more details here:
DotCollaborate: Small Spender Proposal, Phase 1.1

Starting with a smaller, incremental funding request will allow us to earn the community’s trust step by step. We believe this approach will help us show our dedication, capability, and alignment with the community’s goals. It also provides the opportunity for us to demonstrate our work in smaller milestones, giving everyone a chance to see our progress early on.

For more details about DotCollaborate, we have also prepared an FAQ document that answers common questions about the project and its vision. You can find the FAQ here:
DotCollaborate FAQ

We believe that your feedback is vital, and we are excited to hear your thoughts as we proceed. Once we have gathered some feedback from the community, we will be submitting the proposal. We are open to any ideas that might improve our application, and we appreciate all suggestions.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I genuinely look forward to connecting with all of you and working together to create something truly impactful for the Polkadot ecosystem. Feel free to share any comments or questions—your input is very much appreciated!

The documents are quite detailed, but I encourage you to take your time to read everything, including the FAQ document. This will help you gain a comprehensive understanding of the project and its goals. Thank you once again!

Nice to see people caring about social impact, looking forward to collaborate  I arrived with Virto to the ecosystem some years ago with the idea of implementing the Local Incentives Protocol, a way to accrue value in local communities from the commercial activity of businesses transacting with goods&services. Fast forward a few years and we now have the DAO hub of Kusama Kreivo and the VirtoOS, easy to use infrastructure for real world organizations that gives you all the tools you need to set up a business, coop, community, etc… Perhaps the upcoming release of our app that makes use of our latest work abstracting the need for wallets or tokens can be a good starting point for you to set up your community with any kind of governance system that can manage funds on-chain and do things like setting up custom fees for the disputable payments made within your DAO(including the charitable causes described in your proposal).
