The first contact between PNUD (https://www.undp.org/en/venezuela) and Polkadot took place in June through ambassadors Angélica and Saimon during their proactive participation at an Institutional Conference. Ref
In September we were invited to participate to another Institutional seminar organized by PNUD, where we had the opportunity to show Polkadot capabilities to another relevant group of entreprises and international organizations generating a lot of interes on them to explore in a deep way the technology available.
For this reason, the community is being consulted on the establishment of a working group that can manage this mutual collaboration to leverage PNUD’s requirements with the technology available in the Polkadot ecosystem.
For PNUD, the development of blockchain projects is a topic known through the United Nations Innovation Lab. The main objective of the working team will be to manage the technical and business needs for the proper planning and presentation of projects of common interest between PNUD and companies in the Polkadot ecosystem.
The scope of this work includes direct collaboration with PNUD at the international level, as well as with companies with which they have collaboration agreements.
We would like to open the consultation process for the creation of this working team, which will initially work for four months, starting in January 2026, so that the entire community can comment on the creation of this working team. It will initially consist of Angelica and Simon, who have been progressively advancing with this organization. It will also include the participation of a person from W3F (TBD) to analyze corporate compliance in the ecosystem and review the conclusions.
Please feel free to share your opinions and comments.
The second was from UNDP’s LinkedIn official account about the event that brought together important participants from the global blockchain ecosystem. Reference
I again invite the entire community to share their comments and observations on the possibility of establishing an official collaboration channel between Polkadot and UNDP. This effort has already involved several activities and collaborations from Venezuela over the past few months, and as you can see, it aligns with the activities at UNDP’s Copenhagen headquarters.
We want to inform the Polkadot community that at a meeting organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the book “Web3-Blockchain for the Development of Venezuela” was presented. Full book
The book mentions Polkadot as a technology with advantages for creating solutions based on decentralized computing, as well as characteristics that enable an experience for the well-being of society in general. @angelicag ’s participation was important in providing a fundamental vision of the spirit of Web3.
In addition, the work carried out by Space4Build was also recognized. Last year, @Saimon led the project in the Gran Sabana region, one of the country’s largest tourist attractions, where Simon conducted technology education workshops and built solutions for the indigenous communities living in that region.
We hope to continue counting on the support of the entire community to keep bringing Polkadot technology to truly productive spaces and continue building a better ecosystem together.
