Hey everyone,
I recently built Stablecoins Club (https://www.stablecoins.club), a Craigslist-style online marketplace where anyone can buy and sell digital goods directly wallet-to-wallet on Polkadot Asset Hub. The ultimate goal is to create a fully decentralized marketplace for digital goods (and potentially physical goods), minimizing reliance on centralized systems while ensuring safe and seamless trades. All payments and transaction fees are handled in USDC and USDT (can potentially add support for Polkadot’s native stablecoin in the future), so you never have to deal with other tokens for network fees.
The platform is completely free to use — no listing fees, no escrow, and all trades happen directly on-chain. For now, it functions as a simple listing-style marketplace with an integrated buy button, enabling direct wallet-to-wallet transactions on Polkadot Asset Hub with network fees paid in stablecoins. Buyers can also take advantage of auto-delivery if the item is digital and the seller has enabled it. I see this as a major improvement over Craigslist and Gumroad, removing barriers for both buyers and sellers.
Currently, Stablecoins Club only supports the Talisman Chrome extension, and I am using PAPI to connect to Polkadot Asset Hub.
One of the major challenges is that, since all blockchain transactions are final, buyers are susceptible to scams. To mitigate this, I’ve implemented edit history viewing, making listing and comment revision history public, similar to how edits work on Polkadot Forum, so buyers can review the full revision history before purchasing.
I am exploring ways to implement a truly decentralized escrow system once smart contract functionality goes live on Polkadot Asset Hub, which I can explore commission based business models for escrowed trades, along with providing some form of customer support.
I’m open to any technology that can help achieve this vision, feel free to share suggestions or reach out if you’re interested in collaborating.
