How to P<>K bridge USDT or USDC

Since execution of ref 595, we can now bridge stablecoins!

Until the popular UI’s support this, I’d like to share PJS instructions on how to bridge USDT and USDC:

notes:

  • PAH>KAH will work even if the beneficiary account does not yet exist on KAH
  • Sending along DOT tokens from PAH>KAH will no longer be necessary once an asset conversion pool has been established for USDT/KSM on KAH (during AHM it may even fail to attach DOT)

send USDT from PAH to KAH

encoded call: Send 1 USDT + 0.1 DOT from PAH to KAH (please replace beneficiary, I’ll interpret it as a gift otherwise  )

evidence of success:

total fees: roughly 68mDOT ~= 27 cts
elapsed time: 3m36s

send USDT from KAH to PAH

encoded call: Send 0.5 USDT from KAH to PAH (again, replace beneficiary!)

evidence of success:

fees: 12 mKSM + 1.8 cts. = roughly 14 cts

send USDC from PAH to KAH

encoded call: Send 1 USDC + 0.1 DOT from PAH to KAH (please replace beneficiary, I’ll interpret it as a gift otherwise  )

evidence of success:

send USDC from KAH to PAH

encoded call: Send 0.5 USDC from KAH to PAH (again, replace beneficiary!)

evidence of success:
