Dear Polkadot Community,
I’m The White Rabbit (Mike), and I’m excited to officially put forward my candidacy as an individual DV Guardian. I’ve been part of this incredible ecosystem since early 2021, and over time, my involvement has only deepened, both in terms of passion and responsibility.
Another Year of Deeper Involvement
This past year has been especially important in my journey within the Polkadot ecosystem. I’ve taken on more responsibilities and contributed in several meaningful ways:
- I helped revive the Italian Polkadot community, which is now growing steadily as a place for learning, collaboration, and support;
- I was part of KusDAO’s council, an experience that gave me valuable insights into decentralized coordination;
- I’ve served as curator for both the Games and Meetup Bounties;
- Right now, I’m handling the accounting side of the Marketing Bounty, focusing on transparency, accurate reporting and smart use of resources.
What I’ll Bring as a DV Guardian
As a DV Guardian, my focus will be on the financial and accountability aspects of governance proposals.
I’m not a developer, so I won’t pretend to assess the deep technical side of code-heavy projects. But what I do have is a solid understanding of how Polkadot works, its ecosystem, its actors, and where it’s heading. That allows me to recognize when a proposal truly aligns with our shared long-term vision, and when it might just be a side project that doesn’t really serve the bigger picture.
My goal is to make sure treasury resources are used wisely, and that we’re funding ideas that actually move the ecosystem forward, not just isolated, short-term efforts.
Vision for Treasury
I believe that effective financial management is essential to Polkadot’s sustainable growth. I propose establishing a structured and transparent annual budgeting process for the Treasury to ensure clear accountability and responsible resource allocation.
In addition, I see a strong need to evolve the bounty system into one managed by the community, for the community. This system would enable:
- More thorough follow-up and tracking of bounty outcomes;
- Improved, standardized reporting practices;
- Clearer and more efficient internal processes for evaluating requests and managing resources.
This approach aims to empower contributors while enhancing transparency and long-term impact making sure our resources fuel meaningful progress across the ecosystem.
Style and Approach
If you’ve seen me on Polkassembly, Discord, Telegram, or X, you’ll know I like to speak clearly and directly. I’m not afraid to ask tough questions or challenge the status quo, always with the intention of encouraging meaningful conversation. I believe that respectful, open dialogue is how we grow stronger as a community.
Transparency and Trust
Everything I do as a DV Guardian will be done in the open, with clear reasoning behind each decision. I take this responsibility seriously, and I’m here to represent the interests of the community, not any specific team, project, or agenda.
Looking Ahead
Polkadot’s governance is evolving fast, and I want to be part of making sure it stays fair, transparent, and truly community-first. If you choose to support me as a DV Guardian, I’ll do everything I can to honor that trust and keep our shared vision front and center.
