Hi Polkadot Community,
We are excited to announce that Le Nexus is applying for the Decentralized Voices : Cohort 3.
Who are we?
Le Nexus is Polkadot’s French-speaking phygital community.
It’s an open digital community dedicated to the French-speaking agents of the ecosystem, but it’s also a dedicated physical place in Paris. A permanent hackerspace that combines a coworking space, a public Polkadot anti-café for digital nomads, a meeting place for business development activities and builder onboarding, and a web3 venue for web3 teams and community meetups.
As well as the many initiatives, we offer a democratic delegation pool to our members, either if they’d like to get involved in polkadot’s governance, or if they’d like to delegate their vote to a semi-democratic decision-making body.
Today we have 78 active members and 19 regular voters, representing a heterogeneous group of what makes up the Polkadot ecosystem: agents, founders, builders, token holders, etc… This delegation has already voted in more than 80 referenda.

Why participate in Decentralized Voices?
Our vision is simple: we believe that the future of OpenGov relies on the empowerment of local, open and transparent communities like ours organizing, synchronizing and educating each others to become a true community driven force in the Polkadot ecosystem. Our goal is to be a model for bringing a more democratic engagement and transparent participation, inspiring other communities to follow the same path.
Le Nexus also wants to create a new dynamic among DVs, where they not only carry the decentralised voices of our ecosystem, but also actively participate in making OpenGov better. We strongly believe that it’s up to DVs to build consensus around OpenGov behaviour and expectations, both to improve the proposer experience and to raise our standards. In particular, we want to establish simple and easy rules through social contacts with other DV’s to enforce the bare minimum conditions for OpenGov, without having to rely on on’chain logics, which we believe will only worsen the overall UX, while not giving up on decentralisation or going back to the old governance model, as some people seem to believe in.
We believe that Cohort 3 could be a great laboratory for this new way of enforcing better behaviour on openGov through a social contract.
Our Achievements
We have already accomplished the following:
-
Fully deployed DAO governing various spaces dedicated to the community. (Website, Discord, Telegram, Twitter, LinkedIn, GitHub)
-
Deployed DevRel desk, BizDev Success unit and community onboarding.
-
Fully working voting delegation with a strong democratic voters pool with an history of 80 referendum already.
-
Already involved in organizing events and meetups.
- Le Nexus is the only community with a legal wrappers. Le Nexus is a French NPO based on the 1908 Alsace Meurthe-et-Moselle framework.
+Dev community
- Has already helped improve the OpenGov Bot.
- First by providing an easier to deploy docker file for the bot, but also by actively working on facilitating the feedback process for DV’s by connecting the current BOT to PolkAssembly, Subsquare and SubSocial.
Goals as a community
-
Offer a dedicated space for French-speaking Web3 developers (Available): We’ve already opened a virtual space for francophone Web3 developers, where they can freely exchange ideas and collaborate on projects within the Nexus community.
-
Establish a French-speaking BizDev Unit (Available): Believing that business development thrives in one’s native language, Le Nexus has created a BizDev unit focused on the French-speaking Web3 community, serving as a key entry point for those looking to develop projects and collaborations within the ecosystem
-
Create a Permanent HackerSpace in Paris (Upcoming): We are in the process of establishing a physical HackerSpace in Paris to serve as a hub for Web3 collaboration and innovation. This space will provide a venue for Le Nexus members and the broader community to meet, work together on projects, and host events, while also generating funding to support Nexus activities
Discussion started here : -
Launch a nomination delegation service (Upcoming): We believe in the talent of our independent validators, which is why Le Nexus will soon introduce a nomination delegation service on Polkadot and Kusama. This will facilitate staking for holders and provide direct support to those actively contributing to network security and stability.

Why is Le Nexus the ideal candidate?
We believe that Le Nexus has a significant role to play in Decentralized Voices. Our community is already active, transparent, and deeply committed to the Polkadot ecosystem. With a strong team, engaged members, and a solid structure in place, we are willing to make a meaningful contribution to decentralized governance.
We are firm believers in the power of every voice in governance, and that’s the value we aim to champion and amplify through Decentralized Voices.
We’ve already participated in improving the OpenGov Bot and have a roadmap planned to add many more features to improve the overall governance experience.
Our diverse backgrounds and interests allow us to thoroughly understand any proposal. Our votes reflect a collective decision, ensuring no individual member is subjected to pressure by proposers or external Gov participants.
We are already actively involved in OpenGov first through the highly reputable members currently forming our voting group but also through our delegation service, which operates on Polkadot and Kusama.
To ensure full transparency, we’ve set up a feedback channel, where our members regularly share their thoughts on proposals and votes. It’s this transparency and collaborative spirit that we want to further strengthen through the Decentralized Voices program.
Thank you all for your support, and we look forward to continuing this journey with you!
