Decentralized Voice Program Cohort 3 - 0xGeorgii

Hello

I am excited to apply for the Decentralized Voices Program Cohort 3, building upon my experience as a delegate for Kusama in the first and second cohorts.

During my time in the previous cohorts, I actively participated in proposal discussions and refinements. I engaged in extensive direct conversations on Elements and carefully reviewed proposals and specifications from various teams.

As a delegate, I have been and will continue to:

  • Post on X to raise awareness and encourage participation in important proposals.
  • Express my opinions under proposals to foster open discussion.
  • Assist others in understanding the governance system through direct communication, facilitating their involvement.

My background in Web3 security and development drives my mission to enhance the safety and integrity of the Polkadot ecosystem. Adhering to the philosophy of “technology first, marketing later,” I believe we need to develop the platform and make it more accessible to a wider range of developers, especially those delivering projects for businesses. This collaboration is essential for reaching a larger market. I am personally engaged in research dedicated to making Polkadot safer and more reliable. You can read about my work on the Inferara website. Besides my research activities, I run validators in Kusama and Polkadot networks as a 1kv program participant.

You can observe some of my activities at:

Core Governance Principles:

  • Decentralization: It is crucial to prevent the concentration of governance power. I advocate for a system where decision-making is distributed across the community, ensuring no single entity can dominate.
  • Open Governance: Transparency and inclusivity should be at the heart of our governance model, ensuring every community member can contribute to and influence the network’s direction.
  • R&D Support: I firmly back proposals focused on research and development, recognizing their importance in advancing our ecosystem. I do not support proposals that don’t align with our core values, such as those involving gambling.
  • Education Over Marketing: I prioritize educational content over marketing initiatives. Quality dApps and genuine community engagement are more impactful than advertising.
  • Conferences: I support organizing conferences as they facilitate knowledge exchange among developers, fostering innovation and collaboration within our ecosystem.

I believe my experience and vision align well with the goals of the Decentralized Voices Program, and I aim to contribute to a more decentralized, open, and innovative Polkadot network.

Cheers!

For anyone wondering, Georgii’s Polkadot voting history can be seen here

Interestingly, a quick perusal shows that he has exclusively voted AYE on referenda, with only a few exceptions: error proposals for which the proponent requested a rejection, #936 (a referendum to close bounty 33), and #603 (a referendum to fund a bounty to sue Giotto).
