Hi Everyone,
I would like to initiate a discussion on a topic that is very important to me: media, content, and decentralized distribution. As a documentary filmmaker, I’ve been following this topic since 2015. The year after, I had the chance to participate in the Singularity DTV crowdfunding, a platform for decentralised ownership of content, and started to follow the project and others similar, as they come and go.
With these experiences, some perplexity came around. A decade after smart contracts, we still lack an appropriate solution for decentralised media distribution that defends content creators. I’m summarising a complex issue that, if it were easy to resolve, would have been addressed by now.
The crux of the matter is that to do this properly, we need a new format for content distribution, one that incorporates smart contracts to mediate access. Content should be accessible to any agent, regardless of the application he uses.
A new format resolves the access issue and addresses other key concerns:
- Allow content owners to move content from one to another [decentralised] storage options:
- Distribute revenue to wallets defined by copyright holders, AIs or DAOs, software owners, or creators of remixed content.
- Identification of AI-generated content.
- Allow disputes on the nature and propriety of the content.
- Enable AI to create, own, manage, and distribute content.
- Scale distribution for high demands when the storage fails.
- Offer an alternative business model to cutting-edge tools for audio and video productions.
I want to share the document where the Invisible Hand Lab team has the specifications for the W3UP Tools and the 3AV format.. These tools will be used as a part of the Kineranetwork stack.
This post opens the discussion before presenting the project as a proposal to the Polkadot treasury. With it, we release the pre-alpha with the following features:
- Log in on Kinera from web2 and web3 accounts
- Propose and participate in content and creator’s rankings
- Propose and participate in competition games to choose the best content or creators
- Social network where you can follow the best curators or publish your favourite videos.
- Kinera GPT [presenting and resuming the project and how the platform works]
- Move files [video, audio, photo, audio, GPTs] from personal storage to public and back
Use of open-source AI Content Production Tools to:
- Text-to-Image, Text-to-Audio, Text-to-Video, Video-to-Video
- Collaborative text document tools with imbued GPT features.
- P2P Decentralised Video conference, accessible for personal uses, content creation
and teamwork - RAG Creation on open-source GPT models
- Create and manage Communities and DAOs for media creation and GPTs
- Search for AI videos
With this release, we will begin onboarding our first users.
In two to three months, we will launch the Kinera Alpha, featuring the most exciting parts of our work.
As a self-funded team, we deeply value all contributions and constructive feedback. If you share our vision and are interested in testing use cases for media communities or DAOs, we invite you to join our Discord channel. We’re always eager to welcome enthusiastic individuals and hear their insights.
We are on the final details of the treasury proposal, which can be found here.
Thank you for your time.
