Polkadot x Işık Üniversitesi Turkey is the first pilot event İstanbul

This event will be the first pilot initiative in Türkiye.

The event date will be scheduled after February 15.

The proposal has first been presented to the Polkadot community for feedback and evaluation.

Polkadot × Işık University Developer Meet-up & Workshop Event – Sponsorship Proposal

  1. Event Overview The Polkadot Workshop will be delivered by Sadık Emre Alkan. The event will be hosted by the Işık University Blockchain Community and held at the Işık University Şile Campus. This event will represent Polkadot’s first pilot university event in Turkey. The primary objective of the event is to increase Polkadot’s visibility in Turkey and to establish a strong, sustainable, and long-term blockchain developer ecosystem within the country. To ensure accurate, transparent, and reliable participant data collection, event registrations will be managed via Google Forms / Google Docs.

  • Increase Polkadot’s brand awareness within the Turkish developer community

  • Build a sustainable Polkadot-focused developer talent pipeline

  • Establish a Polkadot-centered ideathon/workshop structure enabling direct technical contributions to the ecosystem

  • Lay the foundation for long-term collaborations such as internships, technical partnerships, and deep ecosystem integrations

  1. Pre-Event Preparation Process
  • Prior to the physical event, an online introductory and planning meeting will be held between the Işık University Blockchain Community Executive Board and Polkadot representatives

  • Online participation from the Polkadot team is requested on the physical event day

  1. Event Format and Content The Developer Meet-up, planned for December 2025, aims to bring together:
  • 30+ participants

  • 25+ Polkadot ideathon / idea projects

  • A target audience consisting of blockchain developers, Web3 enthusiasts, and university students

Cost Allocation: Sadık Emre Alkan

  • Accommodation (2 nights), round-trip flights, local transportation, and daily expenses: 600 USD

  • Event allowance: 300 USD

  • University-related expenses: 1,800 USD

  1. Sponsorship Request (Işık University Blockchain Community) To cover the event expenses, a sponsorship contribution of 1,800 USD is kindly requested from Polkadot.

Planned Use of Funds:

  • Flags, brochures, and promotional materials: 400 USD

  • Speaker organization, food, beverages, and catering: 600 USD

  • Gifts, Kahoot prizes, and promotional merchandise: 300 USD

  • Donation to the Işık University Blockchain Community: 500 USD
