The Technical Education team at Web3 Foundation plans to revamp the Introductory course on Polkadot on edX. This course is scheduled to be launched in late October. Along with covering all the protocol updates over the last two years, we would like to include tutorials and assessments related to

  • Accounts and Balance transfers

  • Working with Multisig Accounts

  • Working with Proxy Accounts

  • OpenGov basics and participation

  • Reading the chain state

  • Usage of Block Explorers and chain analytics

  • NPoS basics and how to participate in network staking

  • System Chains Overview - Asset Hub, Bridge Hub, Collectives, People Chain, and Coretime Chain

  • Understand how cross-chain transfers work in the Polkadot ecosystem

  • Dry run of extrinsics (intro to tools like Acala Chopsticks, which let you fork a chain locally and test)

  • Minting NFTs

This course targets active network participants with little or no programming/developer experience. It can also be resourceful for developers outside the Polkadot ecosystem to get an overview of how Polkadot works.

The course content will be made available for free on Polkadot docs. For assessments and credentialing, we use https://www.edx.org/ platform for now which charges fees. We are open for suggestions for Web3 education platforms.
