Newbie here who has encountered an issue when connecting a Ledger Nano S Plus to https://staking.polkadot.cloud/ in order to nominate more DOT to current bonded amount.
The Ledger device has the latest firmware and the Polkadot app (also the latest version) is open when I try to connect to the staking website (the Ledger Live PC app is not open), but I keep seeing an “Open the Polkadot app on your Ledger device” message on the website when I try to connect. Therefore I cannot connect to the staking website.
This only occurred in the past few days - prior to that I used the staking website successfully.
Questions:
Is this a known issue? If not, are there any helpful steps I can take?
I am concerned my funds may be ‘lost’ - is there another way I can access my bonded DOT on https://staking.polkadot.cloud/ ?
Staking Dashboard did not have pre-release access to the new Ledger app. Community swiftly reporting issues like this with solutions will definitely help others overcome the same roadblocks, kudos to xcJIZZO.
Staking Dashboard Direct Ledger support for the new app will be tested and rolled out in due course, but it is not a part of release-day supported apps.
With that said you can connect your Ledger account to Talisman or SubWallet at the moment for all of your staking needs.
Thank you for your replies. The issue is now resolved; the staking dashboard is working as it used to, plus, I have acquired some Talisman skills (that solution worked, thank you!) for the trouble!
I would like to say how appreciative and impressed I am with Polkadot and its community.
