Hi Builders and the whole Polkadot community!

We are proud to present the mid-term report for the ink! Dev Hub, a collaborative initiative backed by Astar Network, Aleph Zero, and Phala Network, funded by the Polkadot Treasury. This venture is dedicated to advancing the state of ink! smart contract development across the Polkadot and Kusama ecosystems.

During the past months our efforts have been channeled into the development of the Swanky Suite and DRink! Tool, both instrumental in filling the void of Wasm smart contract development tools.

Our mission with ink! Dev Hub is to cultivate a more vibrant and diverse developer community by making Wasm (ink!) smart contract development as accessible and user-friendly as possible.

We’ve adopted a transparent, task-based funding model to ensure every step we take is accountable and aligns with our shared goal of building a more robust and secure smart contract environment.
The progress detailed in this mid-term report showcases our commitment and the strides we’ve made over the past three months. With a substantial number of tasks already completed, we’re future-proofing the Polkadot and Kusama ecosystems for a wave of innovation.

We’re very pleased to be a part of this initiative as Aleph Zero. It’s highly rewarding to witness the Swanky and DRink! already gaining traction within the community. We’re also looking forward to seeing—and actively participating in—more initiatives like this in the future!

Thank you all for the efforts put forth over the last year with ink!devhub. Seeing the work that Astar has done with Swanky has been great & their guidance helped a lot when developing the swanky phala plugin. We have been fortunate to work alongside the AlephZero team as well, and DRink! is the perfect example of how to create a smooth DevX & enable devs/teams to build & deliver results quick. I’m excited to see the future developments to come over the next year. Thanks again to all the members that have made a major impact in pushing Ink! adoption further.
