Decentralized Voices: Cohort 4. REEEEEEEEEE DAO

Hello, we are REEEEEEEEEE DAO. We’re a team of experienced builders who’ve spent cycles running validators through both bull and bear markets with deep expertise in DeFi landscape, credit compliance, engineering, and governance. Now, we’re focused on a single mission: simplifying and improving governance in Polkadot. We believe Polkadot isn’t just another L1, we see this the future of public computing. Our goal is to build infrastructure that lasts for decades. Also, it’s “10 Es”, that’s how we go by.

  1. What are our goals/visions?

Our main goal is to support the development of tools and infrastructure that makes Polkadot great again. We see Polkadot not just as another cryptocurrency, but as the foundation for next-generation protocols. Within our DAO, we’re also committed to accountability. We’re building an alternative auditing platform to track post-funding projects, ensuring they deliver on their promises through comments, ratings, and feedback. By increasing transparency, we aim to create more synergies and collaborations among proponents, while holding fund recipients accountable. Simply put, we want stakeholders to clearly see whether the referenda they support are delivering the results they expect effectively.

  1. What Have We Accomplished?

Here are some milestones that we’re proud of:

Nearly 1.2 million delegations secured: A testament to the trust placed, and our commitments to the ecosystem.

Active participation in referenda: From Polkadot to Kusama, our members consistently engage with proposals that shape the ecosystem since our inception.

Constructive criticism where it counts: Our “Nay” votes come with feedbacks, ensuring proposers know where we stand and how to improve.

Openness to dialogue: We value collaboration, and we are willing to revisit proposals when proponents address our concerns.

These accomplishments showcase our commitment to thoughtful governance, community empowerment, and the Polkadot ecosystem’s growth.

  1. What Are Our Values?

Cut To The Chase: No hidden agendas. No corporate speak. Just straight talk and real action.

Think Different: The system is broken. We’re here to fix it, not replicate it.

Open Doors, High Standards: OG or newbie - bring value, you belong.

Serious Work, Light Hearts: Governance is complex. A little bit of memes help. REEEEEEEEEE!!

  1. What does this DAO do?

We take a no nonsense approach, and think of us like a precision machine with an open forum. Every proposal gets dissected down to its core, judged on its merits and impact on the Treasury. We don’t play favoritism, unless someone has a track record of bad decisions, in which case, we pay closer attention. If there’s a problem, we call it out. If there’s a better way forward, we push for it. And if someone proves us wrong, we’re not afraid to change our stance.

  1. How Are Members Involved?

This isn’t a “vote and forget” DAO, we expect members’ active participation:
Read the proposals. Know what you’re voting on instead of just following the herd.
Think critically. Keep the Why at the forefront of the decision
Give useful feedback. If you’re voting “No,” say why and what could make it a “Yes.”
Join the conversation. Governance doesn’t improve if everyone stays silent.

Missing a few votes is fine, we understand life happens. But if you consistently disappear or cast votes without thought, we’ll notice. This isn’t a social club, we’re here to make changes. Whether you’re a dev spotting contract flaws or a DeFi degen who understands incentives, your insights matter, especially when you share them.

  1. How Do We Vote?

Voting in REEEEEEEEEE DAO is all about autonomy and accountability. Our Chaos DAO Discord bot drops new referenda in the voting channel with a TL;DR and links to the full proposal. We expect you to read the details. Voting blind, you’re part of the problem. Each post includes everything you need—from referendum background to relevant links—while our moderators continuously add materials like timestamped AAG episodes and other key resources for quick access. Lastly, there are only two voting policies here, 1) Members do not solicit any other members of their voting decision. 2) Disclosure of conflict of interest is mandatory and no exception.

If this resonates with you, welcome aboard!

REEEEEEEEEE

REEEEEEEEEDAO precise and straight to the point.

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
It looks so cool, love real talk.

The real wish for change for REEEEEEEEEE DAO from us is to be more reactive to changes in the active referenda. To actively track all current referenda is a part of the DV’s job as well.

In this example where the proposer requested to be NAYed for some time now. We can’t expect for the proposers to always remove the preimage in order to nullify the vote.

Hi SAEMBERG,
Thank you for pointing that out. There is no excuse on our part for this oversight. We missed our opportunity on updating our votes as per proponent requested. We’ll take this as a lesson to ensure such incidents are minimized in the future. Continuous improvement is our priority, and your input highlights areas where we can do better. We truly appreciate it.
