With the start of Decentralized Nodes cohort 3 today, and inclusion of 2 new Polkadot Validators from OnFinality, I decided to take the chance to introduce our own validators and how we use them to serve the community
First, a little about OnFinality
OnFinality is the Polkadot ecosystem’s leading Infrastructure provider, running services such as:
- Public & Private RPCs for all Polkadot system chains (and most parachains too!)
- Data Indexers powering your favourite dApps
- Dedicated Nodes for enterprises like bridges

Ecosystem Contributions
Much of the backbone of the polkadot ecosystem is built on top of OnFinality’s infrastructure like our public RPCs. OnFinality provides many of these services at no cost or funding to support Polkadot’s growth.
We’re also helping new Substrate networks find their feet with our commitment to provide all new parachains with free infrastructure - no strings attached - with the OnFinality Blockchain Accelerator
We’ve been active in Polkadot governance, spearheading the Polkadot Infra RPC Bounty which is doing an excellent job fairly funding many public services in Polkadot
How OnFinality’s Validators Help
OnFinality’s Polkadot & Kusama validators, sponsored by Decentralized Nodes, help us to pay for many of our services provided to the Polkadot community.
Thanks to our inclusion in Cohort 2, we were able to expand our free public RPC support to all Polkadot and Kusama system chains.
We believe that the Polkadot Ecosystem cannot grow without a healthy ecosystem of flourishing Parachains, so in Cohort 3 we are using our expanded validator set to provide free infrastructure to new Parachains as well!
