We published an RFC proposal for the future XCM version: RFC: Dropped Assets Claimers by mrshiposha · Pull Request #37 · paritytech/xcm-format · GitHub.
The RFC’s goal is to provide a way to set a custom claimer(s) to the dropped assets. Currently, the claimer setting is purely implementation-specific and could complicate asset recovery when using reserve-based transfers.
