Hey everyone!
We had our community call yesterday. Here’s the update for anyone that couldn’t attend
This is a 9 min read.
If you’re only reading one section, make itQ3 Projects – Planning!
Team Update
First of all, we’re excited to welcome @niklasp to our group of curators! He’s joining to support our DevEx initiatives and will be leading UXB-7 Unified UI Library.
A big thank you to @Remy_Parity, who’s stepping down from his curator role — but not going far. He’ll continue contributing as an advisor across several projects
Also joining us is @gautam who comes on board as an advisor focused on dev/technical reviews.
Q3 Projects Planning
Here are all the projects we’ve shortlisted and are currently discussing for Q3.
3 of them are already confirmed for Q3. The rest are still under discussion.
Below are the details for each — feel free to share your feedback or reach out if you’d like to get involved.
New Programs (We Need Your Vote!)
We’re planning to launch 2 new programs this quarter — help us choose!
Please vote below
Data Tracking Program
Born from our UX audit learnings — most teams lack proper tracking. This $15K pilot would help teams integrate analytics and build data strategies to support better product decisions.
We’ll ensure alignment with data privacy and non-custodial principles.
Example of support offered:
- Analytics integration
- Dashboard & insights setup
- Testing loop: analysis → design → A/B testing → tracking → iterate
Would your team benefit from this?
- Yes, we need this
- No, not interested
Pen-Test Program
Help secure Polkadot Apps and infra with funded penetration tests, focussing on frontend & non-onchain components.
The bounty would cover up to 50% of test costs (max €10K) using vetted vendors.
Eligible projects must be production-ready and commit to publicly sharing results.
- Yes, we need this
- No, not interested
Consultancy Program
We are exploring the need for other services like redesign, UX or product management consultancy.
We are discussing with Acurast this week to better understand their need.
Let us know what type of help your team would need, and if you think this is needed at all.
- Yes, we need this
- No, not interested
Included in Q3
Projects that we are including in Q3.
UX Audit Grants Program – Q3
Building on the success of the pilot, we’re expanding this program with increased flexibility in the funding cap. Our goal: audit 6 to 10 products, with a total budget of $100K.
This gives us room to go deeper on complex products or support larger audit scopes where needed (like PDP or polkadot.com).
Confirmed candidates: Polkadot.com, Subscan, PDP, Kylix
In discussion: Acurast, Nova, Talisman, Polkadot Identity, RegionX, Hydration

Agent UX Project
Still undefined — we’re reserving a small budget to launch an RFP if a specific UX or DevEx need emerges.
MCP Project
Same status as Agent UX — reserved budget, awaiting a concrete opportunity.
Under discussion
Projects that we are still discussing or that we are missing information to move further.
Grants Slot
Have 2 budget slots to support tools like Turtle’s Swap Widget — projects that improve UX/DevEx and help push best practices.
Beyond funding, we help teams:
- Align with stakeholders
- Define realistic milestones and budgets
- Deliver real value with milestones and success-driven payouts
We’re also syncing closely with Open Source Grants to ensure teams get the most effective funding support.
DevEx – Polkadot Launch Playbook
Goal: improve the landing experience for builders arriving on our documentation.
Inspiration: Base’s builder page
Need more discussion with Papermoon and W3F.
DevEx – Developer Tutorials
Aiming to improve developer tutorial platforms — especially with the upcoming Polkadot Hub and smart contract onboarding.
Needs more discussion with Papermoon and W3F.
Community Incentivization Program
Led by Nino — this would encourage the community to report UX issues constructively. Could leverage tools like the UX complaint box. Still under discussion.
PreFix Address Format
Follow up on the address format upgrade by proposing a standard to add prefixes to addresses.
Currently in discussion with Jakub — could be picked up in Q4 or handed off to another person.
CryptoTax Report Tool
Our initial goal was to fund a free tool for the community that can generate accurate CSV reports in couple of clicks.
We found out that W3F has already granted a team to work on this topic. We’ll monitor progress and revisit in August.
Unified User Support
Consolidate the user support journey so users needing assistance have a clearer, more streamlined experience.
After initial discussions, Discord appears to be the most suitable entry point. We’re currently in talks with Moonbearer to assess whether this can be included in Q3.
Projects Progress Update
Projects in Implementation
Everything that began before Q2 2025.
UXB-1 & UXB-2
Still our top focus. Even though these are in “low activity” mode, we maintain monthly follow-ups with the rollups.
=> Goal is to keep the community updated on each parachain’s status
UXB-3 (Protective Measures for CEXs)
Still pending Nova’s integration. SubWallet and Talisman have already implemented the recommendations.
=> Remains in low activity mode.
UXB-6 (Glossary)
Promoted to relevant teams (e.g. Turtle, Bifrost), but adoption has been limited. We’re now using UX Audits to help drive adoption.
=> v02 on hold — we’ll reassess once more teams implement the current version, possibly in Q4.
Q2 Projects - In progress
Initiatives that started this quarter.
UX Audit Grants Program
A success so far — over 160 UX recommendations delivered to teams. We’ll complete 5 audits this quarter: SubSquare, Polkassembly, SubWallet, Mimir and Polimec.
⇒ Read the last update here.
UXB-7 (UI Library)
Led by Niftesty. Research is complete and confirmed the need to launch a PoC UI library based on best practices.
⇒ Read the conclusion.
UXB-8 (Bridge UX)
Collab with Distractive to add a new Bridges page on polkadot.com, plus a research by @ThomasR to map all active routes in the ecosystem.
⇒ Currently in MVP stage — we’ll share findings with the community in the coming weeks to decide whether to continue, following the same framework as the UI Library.
Turtle Grant - in discussion
A grant for Turtle’s swap widget, designed for all rollups to easily integrate cross-chain swap functionality.
⇒ This is our first grant initiative, and we want to use it as a vehicle to push best practices across the ecosystem.
OpenGov Voting System
A new, improved system to vote on OpenGov with section-specific votes and comments.
⇒ Share your feedback and help us scope this project.
Ecosystem Support: AHM & HUB
We’ve been supporting Parity, Velocity, and Magenta on the Asset Hub Migration and HUB initiatives.
For AHM, we’ve helped coordinate the migration with key stakeholders.
For HUB, we created a list of UX tooling that Velocity and Magenta will use in their BD efforts to bring in the right tools from day one.
While these projects didn’t require heavy involvement, we’re intentionally keeping time aside to stay responsive and ready to support the ecosystem’s most critical initiatives.
Open Hours
Our community call is also a place where you can present your progress, or any hot updates for the ecosystem. This time, @alice_und_bob presented us the draft plan for the Polkadot launch party, and Xueying from @sodazone presented us their new product, a : cross-chain scan: xcscan.io.
Final words
Thank you for reading!
As always if you have any questions, want to help or provide feedback, we are on every channels so don’t hesitate!
