The Kus Public Review & AMA: 2022 - 2025

I completely agree — it’s best to let the legal teams do their work and, looking ahead, to seriously consider decentralized hosting so this situation never happens again.

That said, @ChrawnnaCorp has effectively dug its own grave by withholding content that was funded by the treasury, and doing so in bad faith. Any new project he moves on to will inevitably be followed by this reputation within the community for a very long time.

Just to clarify:

It is entirely dishonest to say the W3F is not the cause of the shut down of The Kus.

W3F shut down The Kus.

I’m not sure why this should be publicly escalated instead of dealt with in DMs, but here’s the timeline:

Nov 13 - I’m told W3F is taking over OpenGov but The Kus will continue
Nov 23 - I circulate an offer for Kus Broadcasting 2026 - 40% discounted from 2025
Nov 24 - last time I hear from Bill, all outreach ghosted
Dec 18 - the week before Christmas I am granted a meeting with 2 “messenger” employees of W3F:

  • I am told our offer for Kus 2026 will not work
  • I am presented with a counter offer of 11% of what we suggested - for 8-10 Space Monkeys that could “maybe” commence later in 2026
  • AAG was specifically mentioned as something W3F did not want to continue
  • I agree with the messengers that I will lay off the entire Kus team (end of the Kus)
  • We agree to negotiate from the 11% and they will revert back
  • Call is about to end but then I am alerted that there is a final thing to discuss. It is an inquiry into an accusation of foul play (generated by Flez/Jeeper). It is a conspiracy so bizarre that when it is finished and I ask the messenger to explain the wrongdoing, they are unable to do so!

So I am left:

  1. Blindsided 1 week before Christmas (no chance to continue negotiations)
  2. Forced to lay off entire Kus Team
  3. A weak 11% counter offer (less than a single salary)
  4. the immense disrespect around the conspiracy - the day after I started this thread with an extremely comprehensive history of our activities.

Since taking stewardship of the treasury, the W3F has shut down countless productive relationships in a similar manner - notably with no care to preserve assets.

I have received contact from W3F since this silly situation started. So far nothing about transfer of the assets though.

And at no point could any of what you said not been solved without taking down the videos or at the very least notifying the community members that you were going to do so.

“Shutting down the Kus” did not mean to me that you were taking all content offline. It meant that you were going to stop producing future content.

Without an agreement to outweigh the risks of being a public figure for Polkadot, the channels have been hidden.

Imagine in 12 months if DOT is at 0.10. People look around and see my team spouting 1000 ideas that never came true online. Without the support of DOT holders and context of the time, these videos become a liability.

It seems like a major failure on both sides here:

- You were even allowed to have centralized control over content that you accepted payment for from DOT’s treasury. This should have been hosted in a decentralized manner.

- You decided to take down videos for liability purposes after years of accepting payment to produce the content. There was plenty of time to assess the legal risk or clearly define liability within your contracts.

Polkadot needs to have a system for people that act in bad faith like this with treasury funding. This is a perfect example of the failure of OpenGov. There was funding provided for a service to create assets that should have been owned by the treasury. Now, due to centralized control of the content, the creator is allowed to act in bad faith on his end of the deal.

While I was under contract the risk calculation was entirely different.

Agree on your other points. :+1:

Your contract should have defined liability for the content. Where can I view it?

You can see the entire Kus/OpenGov relationship including all refs at the top of this very thread.

Hey @ChrawnnaCorp . Rat pack here.

Here is a few things you said back at November 15th 2025:

But we’ve seen rat packs of agitators before, and this will be my last reply.

  • If OpenGov is fully funding all the operations (every single expense of your organisation is transferred to opengov directly or over MB) who owns the materials you produce?

What’s cool is that all our content is released under CC licenses as stated in past refs. All of our content since April 2022 can be downloaded here. You can also see how much work goes into every piece of content. There are several orgs in the eco who have a direct line to our content pipeline which is where you see a lot of the clippings from

  • If Kusamarian as a platfrom is fully funded by the OpenGov, shouldnt OpenGov be able to vote on your mandate on the platform? Or are you claiming full personal ownership due to the fact you started the platform?

We have full responsibility for maintaining the platforms. There’s some editorial choices for the Friday DOT News Pump but Kus primarily maintains platforms for other people to speak and direct.

  • What happens with Kusamarian content, all existing materials (funded by opengov) if you decide to hop on another chain?

It is digital content under CC licence. You can do whatever you want with it with attribution

  • Can you list Kusamarian internal guidelines on objectivity and fair reporting?

I would lie if I would say I did not expect this move - hence the questions regarding content ownership.

Are you shocked you did not receive W3F support and that AAG is not needed? You used your position to insult people in the middle of AAG:
Quote:
I just imagine the cream is their tears and I drink it up you know. When I walk around my apartment I like to imagine the paid fudders as tiny little ants that I’m crushing with every bullish step and when I’m on the toilet I don’t see toilet paper but I see a role of their Community College social science diplomas and I use that to clean myself before I carry on with my bullish business.

Then you proceeded to create a single video, where you smeared on individuals, DVs, which simply did their job.

Jay, it is you who killed your own thing, noone else, you.
If W3F would proceed to give you anything at this point, it would be charity.

My suggestion is the following. Look at the Bounties that are getting closed with heads up high, and take a moment to observe what it means to have a spine.

And lastly, when you talk about risk, please do believe me I have all your shit stored, videos and all. What you are saying in this specific forum thread is the biggest risk you can have right now. Wherever you go, if its Web3, we will be there waiting.

Bye Jay.

The most astonishing thing is that he offered a 40% discount for 2026.

But seriously… what kind of margin did this guy even have?

FYI

Total DOT that entered my personal possession was 87,725.19 - 0.004% of max supply, worth $440,592.21 at time of receipt - much less when sold.

Part of this received DOT is for private contracts performed by The Kus, outside of our OpenGov commitments.

Note: this was not all take home income but included expenses like monthly travel and all software to run The Kus.

Can you make it publicly accessible? At least for others to download?

Hey @ChrawnnaCorp

Big fan of your work with The Kus. I understand there have been some funding issues recently and I hope things get sorted out.

Overall, this outlook isn’t great for the ecosystem or for The Kus brand. You’re one of the most valuable creators in Polkadot, and the ecosystem needs people like you.

Have you considered looking at how Bankless grew in the Ethereum ecosystem? They built sustainable revenue through ad sponsorships, premium memberships, and diversified income streams beyond just treasury/grant funding. There might be paths like that worth exploring.

Things can still be amended. Cheers!!

Thanks for the notes man. It was nice being an agent with you!

I need to speak to the W3F about it - as central controllers of the once socially-decentralized network I was reporting on, how they plan to run the network going forward directly impacts how our content is interpreted in the future - which could pose a massive risk for members of The Kus team.

After a stunt like this, W3F should not consider funding Kus operations into the future.

I can do whatever I want with the CC licensed videos.

Correct :+1: - with attribution!

I take it back, this whole situation is honestly laughable.

But don’t worry - how many millions will it take to make the content public again? I will pay the ransom.

Who said anything about a ransom?

I am simply asking to speak to a decision maker at the W3F to resolve the issue.
