Dear all,
However I’m new in this forum, I’m attending Polkadot local Meetups in my country since 2023. My first Polkadot event was a Hackathon organised by (then Head Ambassador) Six, where we met the (mostly local) community for the first time, and we were really impressed by it and by the vibe.
I’m writing this post because I really would like to get feedback on a solution we are working on: Launch3r.
We (the micro-team behind Launch3r) are also a long time gaming community (1000’s of hours in World of Warcraft, our group’s gaming portfolio goes from Apex Legends across World of Tanks to Brawl Starts) and we are in search of how to utilize the blockchain for games the best way possible. Polkadot seems strong technically.
However we stuck at the 1st step, so we would like to turn to you. We are aware of https://playtoearn.com/, Dappradar and others, but these sites are not really helping to get more users on Polkadot, also, they don’t have a native application for handheld-devices, like Steam does.
Related to the curated / double checked topics. After the first 2017 crypto boom we feel it is very hard to navigate in the sea of crypto spam - and that contains game-related projects as well. The 2021 bull also heavily involved NFT’s. This is when the web3 gaming initiative really got traction. Multiple hundred of NFT projects turned out to be nothing more than a cash grab. Due to this experience web2/3 gamers phrased their exact needs.
- Importance of quality of gameplay
- NFT-based ownership of characters and assets
- Cross-game usable of items
- Proper collabs
- In-game token and play to earn is nice to have
Launch3r aims to be a portal as well, but we aim to release native apps f.e. for Steam Deck - for pre-checked web3 games, which are launchable right away.
Thus we:
- Aims to become the primary hub for players when searching for new games
- Displays a curated list of web3 games
- Supported by an AI auto-scraper
- For web2 gamers the goal is also to help their onboarding to web3
Please grant me your feedback, as after the alpha build is done, we are happy tho share where we are at currently: https://launch3r.app .
Please be aware, that only the web3 login works for now - web2 login and registration still have some minor… issues let’s say.
This build is just for testing and getting feedback for the UI, UX and for the concept in a web environment, there are no native apps developed so far (sadly).
Thank you in advance for reading,
Rivara
