Keep the Staking Dashboard Growing — Your Flagship Gateway to Staking & DeFi

The Polkadot Staking Dashboard is how tens of thousands of holders learn, stake, and stay engaged with the network. Simple for newcomers, powerful for pros, and open-source for the community. We’re asking for your support to continue delivering a best-in-class staking and DeFi experience.

What we’re proposing (in short)

  • Timeline: 9 months — November 2025 → July 2026

  • Track: Medium Spender

  • Amount: $154,000 USDC

  • Team: Ross Bulat (Lead Dev) & Joel Kenny (PM/Dev)

  • Why: Sustain and expand the flagship staking app, deepen DeFi access, and keep UX, security, and performance moving forward for everyone.

Why the Staking Dashboard matters

The dashboard serves as the flagship desktop staking gateway for the ecosystem—trusted, familiar, and maintained as a public good. It is accessible by design, offering a “Simple Mode” to guide first-time stakers while providing advanced tools, charts, and validator insights for experienced users. Global and open in scope, it features multi-language support, fiat currency integration, and transparent, open-source development that invites participation from around the world. The dashboard lowers barriers, strengthens network security through participation, and keeps users in the open, decentralized Polkadot flow—not on exchanges.

What’s new & exciting in this cycle

We’re expanding the dashboard into a seamless gateway to Polkadot DeFi while keeping core staking smooth and intuitive:

DeFi, flow, and speed

  • Pay fees in stablecoins (USDC/USDT) where supported.

  • Cross-chain DOT transfers to bring assets back to AssetHub for staking.

  • Liquid staking support (starting with Bifrost) so users can mix native + liquid strategies.

  • Built-in swaps (DOT/KSM/stables) to manage rewards and fees without leaving the app.

  • Two-day unbonding UI when the protocol rolls it out.

UX that feels great

  • Simple Mode upgrades and a refreshed Polkadot.Cloud-aligned design.

  • Unbonding progress tracker with clear visuals.

  • Dedicated docs portal (localized) so answers are always one click away.

Security & reliability

  • Ledger Flex & Stax support and a streamlined sign-and-submit flow.
RPC health endpoints and an improved Staking API for speed, stability, and third-party integrations.

Broader reach

  • Paseo testnet + Vara Network support, with more networks upon request.

  • Expanded localization beyond English, Spanish, and Chinese based on traffic analytics.

Proven track record

The team delivered Staking Dashboard 2.0, featuring a Dedot-powered API architecture for faster, type-safe interactions. Major enhancements included AssetHub integration, pool invites, one-click pool joining, and advanced nomination tools. The new Staking API enables instant access to historical staking data and significantly faster load times. All milestones were verified through OG Tracker, with active user support available via Discord and email.

Call to action

We’re requesting $154,000 USDC for 9 months to cover focused development, operations/hosting (Dashboard & API), and community support—a cost-efficient path to maintain and expand critical public infrastructure.

If you believe Polkadot should offer the best, most accessible staking and DeFi experience—built by and for the community—please support this referendum.

Vote Aye to keep the flagship staking app evolving, unlock streamlined DeFi access directly within the dashboard, support global users through improved UX, documentation, and localization, and strengthen overall network participation and the long-term health of the ecosystem.

We’d love your feedback, questions, and feature ideas below. Thank you for supporting open, user-first staking on Polkadot!

Lovely. Excited for this.
Going forward can we expect some sort of cross chain liquidity aggregator? which finds the best yields across the ecosystem?
