dotID started as a simple identity registrar platform. You can read our previous forum post for more background and our efforts to keep the registry up to date.
dotID is now steadily evolving into a central identity hub for the Polkadot ecosystem, helping users visualize, set, manage, and clear their on-chain identities.
Thanks to our special registrar status, granted by OpenGov, we also handle identity judgements on Polkadot (ref 1803) and Kusama (ref 626).
Recently, dotID was granted an additional OpenGov-approved status as a username authority, allowing us to provide users with .id usernames for their wallets on Polkadot People Chain (ref 1898) and an equivalent referendum is currently being voted on Kusama (ref 656).
