To form a Polkadot sub-DAO, a group of people using on-chain tools, you can currently only use a pure proxy multisig. At the moment, there are no on-chain tools on Polkadot Relay or AssetHub that support token-based sub-DAO voting mechanisms (like Aragon or other EVM-based tools).
However, there are multiple ways to organize your DAO off-chain (using Web2 tools) while using a Web3 tool (multisig) to vote on OpenGov or receive funds from bounties or the treasury in exchange for delivering DAO-led projects.
At the Hungarian Polkadot DAO, we use Notion as our Web2 tool for project coordination, internal accounting, task management, and overall DAO management, basically for everything. We also maintain a pure proxy multisig, through which we actively vote on OpenGov proposals and send and receive funds.
Let me share our DAO-in-a-box, a set of tools and knowledge set,l where you can fork our Notion template as a blank starting point and also use our Notion-based OpenGov voting tool. This setup allows your community or team to easily transform into a fully functional DAO.
Also, we just delivered a new OpenGov voting tool, which adds a layer on top of Polkassembly / SubSquare, thus the multisig members (DAO members) can easily discuss and vote on referendas with the DAO’s multisig. Please check this discussion.
