I’m trying to understand the reasoning behind MeWe’s departure, especially since Frequency remains on Polkadot. Could it be because, as a privacy-focused chain, MeWe requires isolated data availability (DA)? I’ve come across comments here among polkadot protocol devs suggesting that Relay Chain validators might have access to sensitive data, and that this issue won’t be resolved until zero-knowledge (ZK) solutions are natively implemented (whatever that means here). Is this the primary reason MeWe left? If so, doesn’t it highlight the importance of Polkadot offering parachains with privacy and DA isolation? It’s hard to see how institutional companies would be comfortable bringing their data to Polkadot under these conditions.
Where did you hear that they are leaving Polkadot? Because as of January 24th, the last I heard was that all apps under Project Liberty would be using Polkadot, according to the MeWe CEO.
Are you referring to their expansion into Avalanche, or is there something I’m missing? Many projects are going multi-chain, like Phala’s recent expansion into Ethereum. Expanding to multiple chains is beneficial for projects, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they are leaving one for another.
As far as I understood MeWe was moving potentially to an Avalanche L1, while other Frequency aspects remain on Polkadot. Not sure if it’s the case though.
From my understanding, they are simply expanding into Avalanche, going multi-chain. I haven’t heard anything about them leaving Frequency.
