As written in my post - I do not approve this behaviour and raised my voice against it in the past.
But as you rightfully said - nothing was done about it nor it was penalised or punished in any way.
I wasn’t using it before this last period, despite the fact I have been validating for over 4 years now.
However when situation with losing nominations and zero profilability arose I resorted to this approach feeling stupid that others are using it without punishment and I am about to lose my validators trying to be honest.
Against this backlash from community I stopped doing this and won’t be resororting to it anymore.
I hope a warning to validators who used this tactics will suffice to correct all offenders, but if I am to be punished I will take it on the chin.
