Talking to a parachain without public RPCs: subxt-based API on top of a light client

We’ve published a new R&D demo from the Robonomics team. It shows Robonomics 5.0 running with no public RPC endpoints. Clients reach the chain through a subxt-based API on top of a light client, so they don’t depend on third-party infrastructure at all.

This matters most for IoT and edge devices. Light-client access lets them talk to the network directly, in line with the decentralization and data sovereignty principles Robonomics is built on.

Demo: Airalab 🛠 Robonomics on X: "New R&D demo by akru: Robonomics 5.0 no public RPCs needed. subxt API runs over a light client. Tested on a Polkadot parachain: from zero to ready in one minute." / X

We’d welcome some an ideas, especially from teams working with light clients or subxt in production.
