Hey everyone, R0GUE just announced our 2025 roadmap and are looking for collaborators to help bring greater interoperability to the Polkadot ecosystem with Pop Network!
Polkadot’s strength lies in its ability to connect across rollups (parachains), and beyond. But true interoperability isn’t just about bridging assets; it’s about enabling seamless, trustless collaboration between rollups. Where smart contracts can use functionality across the entire ecosystem. That’s what we’re building with Pop.
In 2024, we laid the groundwork with Pop CLI, making it easier to build and deploy smart contracts on Polkadot. Now, we’re taking the next step and turning Pop into middleware for interoperable smart contracts that can compose services across the Polkadot ecosystem.
At Sub0 Bangkok, we demonstrated a proof-of-concept of Pop’s messaging framework: a smart contract on Pop trustlessly interacting with other rollups using PolkaVM, Polytope’s ISMP, XCM, and Pop API. In 2025, we’ll take this into production, unlocking the next wave of multichain applications.
What’s Coming in 2025:
- Production-ready messaging framework for seamless rollup interoperability
- First-class support for ink! on PolkaVM, powering the future of Polkadot smart contracts
- Developer tooling upgrades, including starter kits for multi-rollup dApps
- Collaborations with DeFi protocols to create unified, cross-chain applications
Interoperability requires collaboration. We’re actively looking for ecosystem partners, developers, and contributors to help push this forward.
