Referenda that end after the next runtime upgrade period will be affected. Locks from already-ended Referenda are not affected. Please review your convictions on current votes before the next runtime upgrade to ensure you are satisfied with your voting preferences.

Referendum 301, proposing to upgrade the Kusama runtime to v1’000’000 has sufficient support and if approval remains the same, will begin confirming in a few hours. https://kusama.polkassembly.io/referenda/301
Among other things, this upgrade will remove old Democracy (Gov1) locks and introduces BEEFY, a secondary protocol to GRANDPA to support efficient bridging between the Polkadot and segregated blockchain. Polkadot Consensus · Polkadot Wiki
Note to Kusama validators - as a result of the inclusion of BEEFY, after this runtime upgrade, Kusama validators should rotate their keys and set them on-chain. Additionally, validators should no longer use the “no-beefy” flag.
