Polkadot 2.0 & Hub migration celebration thread 🥳

Guys and Girls!

It has been 2.5 years since @gavin first shared his ideas for Agile Coretime & Elastic Scaling. It has been 1.5 years since @rphmeier presented his idea for Plaza, which later became what we now know as Hub.

Since then, everyone here has worked so hard to make these ideas become a reality and now finally everything has come together. This is such a big moment and I hope you take the time to properly celebrate it!

It’s not easy in an industry that is constantly over-fixated on money to keep a level head and to focus on building freedom tech. The revolution that was ignited by Satoshi is not yet done and we still don’t have the rich landscape of tools to organize our society and take matters into our own hands that we hope to see.

But the platform is here now!

  • Polkadot scales to real world needs - something that Ethereum is failing to do
  • Polkadot keeps being decentralized - something that Solana thinks it can ignore
  • Polkadot offers shared security - something that Cosmos eventually didn’t achieve

We have a platform now that allows anyone, no matter where they are on their growth journey to launch decentralized applications and scale them to any size that they need.

For the next stage, we will see the focus shift to see more applications come to live on top of it.

But for now, we can celebrate these big releases! Thank you to everyone at Parity and in the Technical Fellowship who has spent the last months and years to make this possible! And to everyone in the ecosystem who stayed on course despite all the hardships. We are working to build a world that gives people the freedom to take matters into their own hands and it is super exciting to be part of this journey! :rocket:

I was today’s years old when I learned that 80% of all migrations fail. This is really impressive, and I’m proud to have witnessed that moment when the loading bar hit 100%.
