The Polkadot Assurance Legion (PAL) has published its semi-annual Community Report for H1 2024.

PAL is a community-driven initiative that aims to make Polkadot a safer and more attractive place for both builders and users by allocating funds from the Polkadot treasury (bounty #22) to advance security in Rust / Polkadot SDK.

The first iteration of PAL has targeted primarily the co-funding of parachain audits. Going forward, PAL is aiming to adopt a more holistic approach and provide funding for audits of the Polkadot Relay Chain / System Chains, Solidity smart contracts, the development of security tooling and other security initiatives. Thanks @cl0w - I think PAL is a wonderful initiative. There are lots of exciting things happening in the ecosystem but we need to always ensure there’s a continued focus on security.

The fact that funding for the initiative came from Treasury demonstrates the tremendous value the DOT community places on security which is great to see.

It is great to see this initiative grow from conception to where PAL stands today. Hats off to the great builders and security-minded members ar PAL that continue to push the ecosystem forward and make top security audits accessible to builders.
