Mimir 2025 Plan

What is Mimir

Mimir is a multisig account management platform designed for DAOs, institutions, and teams operating within the Polkadot ecosystem and is currently expanding support to EVM environments. It provides secure, modular, and flexible multisig tooling for managing treasury assets and interacting with Polkadot-native governance, staking, and cross-chain operations.

Mimir Strategic Positioning: The smart account layer for the Polkadot Ecosystem

Mimir operates as a smart account layer, acting as the interface between users and Polkadot’s governance, asset, and infrastructure layers.

Our roadmap for H2 2025 is grounded in a clear product strategy focused on one mission: serving multisig/proxy users better. All upcoming developments align with this strategic vision, which centers around three pillars:

1. Serving Polkadot Hub Strategy - “One Polkadot, One Multisig”

Aim:

Becoming a core component of Polkadot’s account abstraction layer, enabling users to manage the entire Polkadot ecosystem through a single Multisig/Proxy account.

Key Initiatives:

  • Minimal Relaychain(Asset Hub Migration): Provide essential guidance and feature enhancements to ensure a smooth migration experience for multisig/proxy users

  • Chain Abstraction: Build core chain abstraction features to simplify cross-parachain operations, letting users focus on actions rather than switching networks—e.g., Omni UX and remote proxy

  • EVM Compatibility : Enable Mimir to support both PVM and Substrate-based users simultaneously, and build a bridge to achieve more seamless interaction between the two

  • Parachain Growth: Focus on integrating more parachains and their native functionalities to support their day-to-day operations

2. Security as a Core Priority

Aim:

As a multisig tool, security is at the heart of Mimir’s value. We continuously invest in protecting user assets, ensuring service reliability, and evolving our security model alongside new features.

Key Initiatives:

  • Xchain-simulation: to guard cross-chain operation

  • Real-time alerts and error reporting

  • Careful vetting of third-party integrations and dependency boundaries

  • Enable cross-platform transaction verification

3. Removing Barriers to Multisig Adoption

Aim:

Mimir strives to make the multisig experience as smooth and intuitive as using a single-signature account.

Key Initiatives:

  • Building frictionless UX with AI capabilities

  • Partnering with third-party dApps to integrate Mimir SDK

  • Continuously expanding product functionality to simplify common actions for institutional and DAO users

  • Seemless user experience among different multisig platforms

2025 Plan

Some optimizations—like multi-token support and the Mimir Key Features—are already live in the Omni version. Others are in active development, including both improvements to existing flows and several new features:

Optimizations

  • Homepage Redesign: Improved information density and added modules for fast access to all core features

  • Step-by-Step Creation Flow: Clear, guided process for creating multisig and proxy accounts

  • Submit Transaction / Transaction View: Cleaned-up layout with redundant elements removed and important info highlighted

  • Batch / Template Interface: Merged Call Data Decoder into the right-hand sidebar to create a focused three-panel UI

  • Notification Center: A centralized hub for managing all pending multisig transactions

  • Error Feedback: Actionable messages with suggested fixes when issues occur

  • Floating Hints: Reorganized prompts to reflect on-chain progress and improve transparency

New Features

  • Opt-In Notifications: Users can subscribe to browser or email alerts when transactions are created or updated

  • Voting Tool: Designed for DAOs with fast proposal selection, real-time voting status, and historical tracking

  • AI Assistant: Helps users understand multisig/proxy concepts and quickly navigate to the right Mimir feature

  • :white_check_mark: Quick Simulation (Completed): Dry-run support on-chain delivers near-instant simulation results and account balance previews

2. Functionality Upgrades

Mimir continues to evolve based on community needs and ecosystem developments—especially around account safety, network migration, and inter-chain usability:

  • Asset Hub Migration Support

    • Dynamic prompts and tooltips in transfer, pending transaction, and creation flows now notify users that Polkadot has migrated to Asset Hub.

    • Support for universal gas payments with any token, leveraging Asset Hub’s native capabilities.

  • Cross-Chain Related Features

    • Teleport Support: Enables users to move assets across system parachains and the Relay Chain.

    • Cross-Chain Simulation: Allows users to preview risk-prone multi-step transactions before execution.

    • External Bridge Support: For assets on Ethereum and Bitcoin, Mimir integrates with SimpleSwap to support external token swaps.

Mimir will not develop its own cross-chain UI at this stage. Instead, we plan to integrate with existing solutions such as Kheopswap, SubWallet, and Turtle—leveraging their mature cross-chain capabilities while continuing to improve compatibility and recovery within Mimir.

  • Batch Transfer: Users can send tokens in a batch transaction via a sheet without sending one by one.

  • :white_check_mark:Custom Apps Support (Completed): Users can easily discover and launch dApps that already support Mimir (even if not officially listed), including those that integrate through ReactiveDOT.

  • :white_check_mark: Remote Proxy (Completed): Relay Chain-based multisigs can now be used across compatible parachains like Kusama <> Kusama Asset Hub without re-creation—reducing setup friction post-migration.

  • :white_check_mark: Transaction Recovery (Completed): Users can recover incomplete or unsigned multisig transactions by importing raw call data from other tools like PolkadotJS.

3. Third-Party App Integrations

We’re working closely with ecosystem teams to integrate Mimir SDK and provide native multisig tooling within their platforms(In Progress):

  • Hydration App Since integrating WalletConnect, Hydration has seen a 5x increase in multisig transaction volume. SDK integration will streamline DeFi trading, liquidity access, and cross-chain actions for coordinated teams.

  • Polkassembly Allows DAOs to submit proposals, cast votes, and monitor OpenGov referenda using multisig or proxy accounts.

  • RegionX Supports Coretime procurement using multisig or proxy accounts for streamlined bidding.

  • SubWallet Through Mimir SDK integration, users can enjoy a unified interface for cross-chain transfers using intelligent token routing and asset selectors.

The following app requires Mimir’s submitting PR for integration:

Adds multisig support to dApp Staking and other Astar-native features.

Migrating to the official Polkadot Cloud version to keep our staking interface fully up-to-date.

Batch-manage bounty-related transactions through a visual interface and coordinate with other members in real time.

More Coming: We’re also actively working with Turtle, Kheopswap, and others to expand the supported dApp ecosystem.

4. PVM

Mimir’s PVM version is now live with contract-based multisig support. It brings familiar multisig tooling to EVM-style workflows inside Polkadot.

Next steps include:

  • Modules (Safe’s core feature)

    • Easy Expense: Define periodic allowances for specific addresses and tokens, skipping approval for predefined payments like salaries, vendor payouts, or budgeted spending.

    • Recovery: Allow pre-designated trusted accounts to rotate out multisig signers in emergency situations.

  • Opt-In Notifications for PVM: Smart contract-based users will receive the same browser/email alerts available on the Substrate side.

  • Precompile Support: As Polkadot introduces staking, OpenGov, and other Substrate-based functionality into the EVM runtime, Mimir will adapt its UI to enable one-click access to those operations from PVM multisig accounts.

Reached Milestones

1. $10M+ TVL Secured

Mimir-secured multisig accounts have surpassed $10 million in total value locked (TVL), tracked directly from on-chain balances. This figure reflects growing adoption by DAOs, validators, and institutional asset managers within the Polkadot ecosystem.

2. Referenda #1572 Passed

Mimir’s initial treasury proposal was approved by the Polkadot governance system. This successful referenda confirms both technical validation and community support, establishing a foundation for continued funding and public utility.

3. Hydration DAO: 5x Growth in Multisig Transactions

Following the integration of WalletConnect and the Mimir SDK, Hydration recorded a fivefold increase in multisig transaction volume. Over 80% of Hydration’s treasury and operational activities now occur via Mimir multisig accounts, demonstrating its reliability in a live DAO setting.

  1. PVM Multisig Deployed (Alpha)

Mimir launched the first working version of a Safe-compatible multisig system on PolkaVM, Polkadot’s RISC-V–based virtual machine. This marks a significant technical milestone toward EVM-equivalent tooling for smart contract users inside Polkadot-native environments.

  1. Ecosystem SDK Usage

The Mimir SDK, as a multisig SDK, has already been integrated into 6 applications—making it the most widely adopted SDK in the ecosystem for multisig support. More integrations are underway.

These integrations validate Mimir’s approach to embedded multisig, enabling third-party applications to offer multisig features without building infrastructure from scratch.

We’re excited about what’s ahead—and even more excited to build it together with the community. If you have ideas or want to get involved, reach out. Mimir is built for you.
