Dotui — A Terminal User Interface for Polkadot

Looking for Grant Opportunities — Dotui, a Terminal UI for Polkadot

Hi everyone :waving_hand:

I’m building Dotui — the first real interactive TUI (Terminal User Interface) for the Polkadot ecosystem. Think k9s for Kubernetes or lazygit for Git, but for Polkadot. Built in Rust using ratatui + subxt.

I’ve already explored the W3F Grants Program and the Open Source Developer Grants Bounty, but both are currently closed. I’m now looking for any active grant programs, bounties, or funding sources where Dotui could be a strong candidate.

What is Dotui?

The Polkadot ecosystem currently has no interactive TUI. Existing tools are either browser-based (Polkadot.js Apps) or one-shot CLI commands (polkadot-cli, subxt). Dotui fills this gap with a fully live, keyboard-navigable terminal application.

Phase 1 features (ready to build):

  • :magnifying_glass_tilted_left: Live block explorer — real-time block feed, extrinsic & event drill-down, keyboard navigation
  • :money_with_wings: Wallet & transfers — local key signing, balance view, DOT transfers, tx history
  • :desktop_computer: Cross-platform — Linux, macOS, Windows binary releases

Tech stack: Rust · ratatui · tokio · sp-core
License: Apache 2.0 / MIT — fully open source
Funding needed: ~$10,000 USD

Long-term roadmap:

  • Phase 2 — Validator & staking dashboard
  • Phase 3 — Governance panel (referenda, conviction voting)
  • Phase 4 — Parachain monitor (crowdloans, XCM tracking)
  • Phase 5 — Hardware wallet support (Ledger)

My Question to the Community

Are there any active grant programs, bounties, or funding initiatives — inside or outside the Polkadot ecosystem — where Dotui would be a good fit?

I’m open to:

  • Polkadot / Kusama ecosystem bounties
  • Rust-specific funding programs
  • General open-source developer tooling grants
  • Any Web3 ecosystem grants that support chain-agnostic tooling

Any leads, personal experience, or introductions to relevant curators are hugely appreciated. Happy to answer questions about the project. :folded_hands:
A working prototype is actively being built. Demo

Thanks for reading — all feedback welcome! :folded_hands:
