I remember extremely similar discussions back in 2018, and yet we’re still at the exact same place.
In general, I strongly disagree with vision 1, but the reasons don’t matter here.
I just wish it was possible to actually write alternatives to Substrate. You know, the whole competition moving things forward thing.
But it’s not possible, because the way things work is held hostage by Parity employees refusing to contribute to the specification and in general people not giving a shit about this specification (which is paradoxical for an ecosystem where anyone is supposed to be able to review how their software works), plus IMO questionable decisions like giving up on determinism when it comes to PVF verification.
