Similar to the [Unifying Polkadot ecosystem address format](https://forum.polkadot.network/t/unifying-polkadot-ecosystem-address-format/10042) we would like to propose the same solution to Kusama ecosystem chains, I highly recommend reading on it before as it contains all the relevant information, however there are 2 options for Kusama to adopt this changes: 1. **Prefix:2 for compatible Kusama parachains (usually starting with letters)** 2. **Prefix:1 for compatible Kusama parachains and the system chain** We would like to see discussion about this happen before we propose wish for change referenda similar to Polkadot but since this is more controversial, it might need more time to get aligned. ---

How this going bro? Personally i see option 2 is less complicated, clean and unifying for all Dot and KSM ---

The Polkadot part was approved as [WFC](https://polkadot.polkassembly.io/referenda/1217) with 99.9% support. We are finishing the guid right now which will be ready this week so hopefully we start to see first projects migrating. As for the Kusama one, we didn’t put it up yet, because I didn’t see any responses here but we can try to do the same. I kinda agree it would be nice but it will break more stuff also for Kusama AH and native chains. Which could be ok since we are expecting chaos ---

Yes we do need a new ref for Kusama governance. I would maybe wait for this to be at least partially implemented so the Kusama one can be seamless if we go with n2. ---

Hi everyone, Can Kusama have fixed prefix when start address like 0x on Ethereum ? Right now Kusama have difference and not fixed start prefix, it makes me confused ---

Using 0x address is probably not feasible as it would need a complete change of address formatting.
