# Renaming "Parachains" to a More Generic Term

Unfortunately, many sections (Build and Maintain) have moved from the Wiki to the Polkadot Developer documentation. As a result, the Wiki has shrunk to just the Learn section. I do see among the community that rollup has been picked up quickly.

Pessimistic rollup or cynical rollup are inappropriate IMO as those terms are negatively connotated among the general public. I get what people mean, but it is just a trunoff using those terms with people that are not Polkadot core developers. @0xTaylor came up with alternative names [here](https://forum.polkadot.network/t/polkadot-3-0-the-jam-upgrade/13834/4), and I like:

- secure rollup
- trusted rollup

However, just using Polkadot rollups or rollup chains feels cleaner and still different enough to make parachains their own thing, attached to the Polkadot brand.
