# Reflecting on Changing the Ideal Staking Rate Calculation

It’s simply the inverse of the second graph 🙂 This change was initiated to protect stakers. There is [another initiative](https://forum.polkadot.network/t/adjusting-the-current-inflation-model-to-sustain-treasury-inflow/3301) to find a more sustainable model for the treasury, which could become reality soon. The code is already deployed and tested on Westend. I’ll give more updates on that in my next updates.
