# PolkaIdentity - A friendly on-chain identity service

Can you elaborate or do you have a screenshot or something to better understand how this works?

Related to [unifying Polkadot ecosystem address format](https://forum.polkadot.network/t/unifying-polkadot-ecosystem-address-format/10042/29), are you guys going to support it and do you think offering the ability to register unified addresses now would be helpful in transition and future-proof at the same time? Of course the wallets would have to support it as well, but I think that’s an interesting question, as some identities set later this year may become “out of sync” with what people see in their wallets maybe 3-6months after that.

Btw, unrelated question: how does your team handle data retention & compliance - is it required for you to keep personal data (as a registry) or do you destroy it immediately after verification? If it’s kept, where is it kept and who can get it?
