Polkadot Ambassador Fellowship (PAF) Governance: Critical Questions Before On-Chain Implementation

I’m excited to share that I’ve published the code for the Polkadot Ambassador Fellowship (PAF) Governance Extension Pallet feat: Polkadot Ambassador Fellowship Governance Extension Pallet by ltfschoen · Pull Request #1 · Doordashcon/runtimes · GitHub. It’s been thoroughly tested and is ready for review. This will complement the on-chain implementation Ambassador Configurations by Doordashcon · Pull Request #736 · polkadot-fellows/runtimes · GitHub that’s already been reviewed by the Polkadot Technical Fellowship.

I’m also thrilled to announce a proposed draft amendment to the Ambassador Fellowship manifesto docs: Amendments and Annex of Polkadot Ambassador Fellowship Governance Extension Pallet by ltfschoen · Pull Request #3 · polkadot-phoenix/manifesto · GitHub that addresses the prerequisites we discussed earlier. I’ve put together comprehensive answers to all those important governance questions from our conversation last month, including:

  • Draft API documentation for the code
  • Draft Privacy Policy
  • Draft Terms of Use
  • Preliminary Security Assessment with risk mitigation strategies
  • Preliminary Dual-Use Risk Assessment with protective recommendations

These drafts include all relevant disclaimers and represent a complete framework for moving forward, so I’m looking forward to receiving community feedback and collaboration on these important milestones.

Note: The Polkadot Legal Bounty wasn’t consulted for this work, and there’s an ongoing discussion about its future at Closing Bounty 62. Polkadot Legal Bounty.
