**[ENGLISH] Hispanic Chapter of Polkadot Ambassadors Manifesto V0.1**

**1. The Theory**

**1.1 Introduction**

The Polkadot ecosystem continues to grow, but **Spanish-speaking contributors** face **structural challenges** that have limited their impact. Past initiatives, such as the **Spanish Content Bounty** and previous attempts at ambassador organization, have failed to deliver **long-term engagement** and **sustainable leadership**.

**Key Lessons from Past Attempts:**

- The **Spanish Content Bounty** suffered from **opportunistic participation** —contributors joined while funding was available and disappeared once the money ran out.
- Previous efforts, such as the **first governance-focused Spanish manifesto** , lacked **execution and continuity** , failing to foster lasting leadership.
- A **recurrent issue** has been the **inability to develop new leaders** —many participants remain attached to new initiatives without **delivering meaningful results**.

To **break this cycle** , the **Hispanic Chapter of Polkadot Ambassadors** is structured around **technical value creation, measurable impact, and leadership renewal** , ensuring that the Spanish-speaking community **does not remain dependent on short-term funding cycles**.

This chapter will focus on **three critical areas** to **build a sustainable presence** in Polkadot:

1️ F **acilitating communication** between Spanish-speaking ambassadors and the global community.
2️ **Supporting project proposals** and regional activities.
3️ **Developing a technical content library** in Spanish, ensuring **high-quality translations and original tutorials**.

**1.2 Definition**

The **Hispanic Chapter of Ambassadors** operates under **three core principles** :

✅ **Commitment to Long-Term Impact** : Members must demonstrate **ongoing contributions** , ensuring that participation is **not driven solely by funding opportunities**.
✅ **Leadership Development** : A structured mentorship model will ensure **new leaders emerge** , avoiding the stagnation that has characterized past initiatives.
✅ **Technical and Community Alignment** : This chapter will focus **exclusively on high-value technical contributions** , avoiding low-effort, repetitive content.

This approach guarantees **scalability, accountability, and measurable outcomes** that **support Polkadot’s ecosystem in a meaningful way**.

 ![image](https://europe1.discourse-cdn.com/flex005/uploads/polkadot2/original/2X/1/102d2c34098c0b3b357f6392a61958fa87f6a415.png)

**2. Key Challenges and Past Failures**

**2.1. Why Past Initiatives Have Failed**

**Opportunistic Participation in Funded Initiatives**

- The **[Spanish Content Bounty](https://polkadot.polkassembly.io/referenda/1185)** demonstrated that some contributors participate **only when financial incentives exist** , leaving the community without continuity.
- Solution: **Only reward sustained contributions** , not one-time actions.

**Lack of Leadership Renewal**

- Spanish-speaking initiatives have often been led by the **same small group of individuals** , who **fail to develop new leaders**.
- This has created **dependency on a few actors** rather than fostering **a self-sustaining ecosystem**.
- Solution: Implement **leadership succession programs** and **mentorship initiatives**.

**Failure to Deliver Measurable Impact**

- Many previous proposals **lacked clear objectives, deliverables, and accountability mechanisms**.
- Solution: **Define strict KPIs** (e.g., number of translated technical documents, governance participation rates, project funding success).

These **mistakes will not be repeated**. The **Hispanic Chapter of Ambassadors** will prioritize **execution, transparency, and leadership rotation**.

**3. Core Initiatives**

**3.1. Facilitating Communication with the Global Ambassador Community**

📌 **Objective:** Ensure that Spanish-speaking ambassadors are **actively involved** in the global Polkadot ecosystem.

📌 **Key Metrics of Success:**
📊 Growth in **active contributors** within the chapter.
📊 Number of **technical resources published**.
📊 Increase in **Spanish-speaking participation in governance, developer and funding programs**.

* * *

**5. Next Steps**

🔹 **Initial Recruitment:** Onboard committed Spanish-speaking ambassadors.
🔹 **Define First Projects:** Select the first set of documents and tutorials for translation.
🔹 **Establish Communication Channels:** Set up Discord, Telegram, and BiWeekly meetings.
🔹 **Publish First Technical Resources:** Gather community feedback and iterate.

* * *

**6. Conclusion**

This **Hispanic Chapter of Ambassadors** **learns from past failures** and **avoids previous mistakes** by focusing on:

🚀 **Technical value creation** – No low-effort content, only **high-value translations and tutorials**.
🚀 **Leadership renewal** – Avoiding stagnation by ensuring **new leadership development**.
🚀 **Long-term engagement** – Eliminating short-term opportunism **by tracking continuous contributions**.

This **structured approach** ensures that the initiative is **sustainable, impactful, and aligned with Polkadot’s vision** for decentralization and global community empowerment.

Let’s **build a thriving, self-sufficient Spanish-speaking Polkadot community!** 🌎🚀

Additional notes:

+This proposal takes several lessons learned from the manifesto proposal presented in [September 2023](https://forum.polkadot.network/t/alianza-hispana/3916).

+The execution of this chapter should not depend on the approval of a bounty or pragmatic initiative, it could help but seeks to encourage the voluntary and retroactive participation of those who share the spirit of collaboration of the ecosystem.

+Initially, leadership is proposed for ambassadors but it should naturally evolve to anyone who wants to participate.

Feel free to share your comments and questions.

Sincerely, [Saimon](https://polkadot.polkassembly.io/user/TheMvp07) =)

**[Español] Capítulo hispano de Polkadot Manifiesto de embajadores V0.1**

 ![image](https://europe1.discourse-cdn.com/flex005/uploads/polkadot2/original/2X/1/102d2c34098c0b3b357f6392a61958fa87f6a415.png)

**2. Desafíos clave y fracasos pasados**

📌 **Acciones:**
🗓 **Quincenal:** Reuniones de coordinación de embajadores hispano-globales
🗓 **Mensual:** Publicación de anuncios traducidos.

📊 **Métricas de éxito:**

- Aumento de **participantes hispanohablantes en la gobernanza**.
- Número de **discusiones y propuestas de gobernanza traducidas**.

📌 **Acciones:**
🗓 **Siempre:** Identificar y traducir documentación crítica.
🗓 **Siempre:** Mejorar y adaptar tutoriales.

* * *

**5. Próximos pasos**

🔹 **Reclutamiento inicial:** Incorporar embajadores hispanohablantes comprometidos.

* * *

Atentamente, [Saimon](https://polkadot.polkassembly.io/user/TheMvp07) =)

I’m glad to see this manifesto and hope it will set the ethical foundation of the community.

Distractive has always had a good working relationship with many Hispanic ecosystem agents, and we value their input and continue to support you with assets and resources.

To align better, I suggest we receive an invite to your workspace or high-level roadmap with dates.

Lastly, I wondered how the team plans to get sustainable funding?

Hi DotDotApe,

The idea is quite new and was born as a way to bring the ambassador program closer to all the people who do not speak the language but still want to contribute and who feel limited by not speaking English.

I had already mentioned it in a previous meeting but yesterday was when I was able to share it in the group call.

For now I am sharing the foundations of something that can be useful taking into account the lessons learned from previous initiatives and the ideal is that anyone can share their opinions and suggestions, I consider that is what will make it something really useful for the community.

I am happy to support in the early stages, but the healthiest thing is that later on this can open spaces to rotate responsibilities and not become a small group that wants to control everything without giving space to anything else.

At this moment I will not consider defining the financing a priority since there are still many opinions to be heard before building something more solid, but I am convinced that with the collective contribution a model can be defined that allows it to function in a healthy and transparent way, that is where the power of the largest DAO in the world must be demonstrated.

Hi, it’s a great initiative! Did anyone else work on it with you? I ask because if it’s going to represent the entire Spanish-speaking community, I believe there should be at least one representative from each region contributing. It would have been ideal to share a link to a document where comments could be made.

Hello @lilymendzdev

For now there is no one else working on this but the idea of sharing it here is so that anyone can review it and share their ideas and suggestions.

The initiative is open to anyone to participate in a transparent manner, regardless of the region.

What you mention about a document sounds good, let’s see how participation evolves as the days go by because this can in no way bear only my name, it should be by and for the community =)

Hi @Saimon I’ve really enjoyed reading your manifesto. This definitely resonates with me and some of the ideas I expressed in my DN 2nd cohort application.

I believe that I can also help bridge connections and contribute to educational material to onboard more community members who share the same vision, principles and ideals but might not yet have full access to understanding Polkadot, Kusama and JAM. Realistically, today, even though AI is doing an increasingly better job at translating content to other languages, many nuances are lost in translation and make it a steep learning curve for many. I believe that human interaction is, and will remain, a main part of building a community, and although we live in a connected world, inside this connected world we are still social beings, and we need to bridge the part of the community who is well versed in the technological side of things with the rest of the world.

I am looking forward to discussing together and I’m ready and willing to start translating essential documentation and interacting with the Spanish-speaking community!
