Decentralized Radio on Kusama: Epoch

Epoch

Epoch is a contributor-owned streaming platform built on Kusama. Contributors submit audio content, earn points through peer review, and get paid from the platform’s revenue every two weeks. Listeners access the curated stream with a monthly subscription.

No labels. No algorithms. No gatekeepers.

For Listeners

Buy a subscription and stream. That’s it. Your payment goes directly to the people making the content. Subscriptions are non-transferable and renewable month to month.

For Contributors

Submit tracks, get them reviewed by peers, earn Contribution Points. Every two weeks, the treasury distributes revenue to contributors proportional to their points. Playlist changes and platform parameters are decided by governance vote — contributors run the platform.

How Content Gets On Air

  1. A contributor submits a track and it goes through peer review.

  2. Once approved, they propose adding it to the playlist via a governance vote.

  3. If the vote passes, the track goes live on the stream.

No central editor. No approval from a label or platform owner.

Built on Kusama

Epoch runs on Kusama Asset Hub as a project on ContribNet — a platform for decentralized contributor compensation and on-chain governance. All revenue, payouts, and playlist management happen on-chain.
